Scale size close to WOW minis.

By Steel Town Tough, in Wings of War (WWII)

Hello, what is the closest scale to the official wow minis.then how do you adapt outside models to the game.I am getting WWII set 1 and the deluxe 4 planes that come with the set. Thanks in advance STT

Hmmm..I thought I kind of answered that in the other thread. !/200 is the scale for WWII minis. There is not much out there for pre-painted models in 1/200, but several for models you have to paint yourself. Otherwise there are alot of 1/144 scale models, but they do not look good with the official 1/200 WoW. This year they are suppose to release two more sets of WWII models with set 2 coming in just a couple of months (finders crossed).

I encourage you to check this site out for information if you have not already:

The site is devoted to WoW and has many posts each day to keep you up to speed on what is coming up. The game designer is actaully a member and shares alot of information.

No problem...it is an easy game to get excited about. gui%C3%B1o.gif Check out the other site, it is a very friendly forum and there is plenty there to keep you busy.

Well, there are still just a few models so it is not a bad idea to get some other planes to make the game more fun.

There are at least 2 different manufacturers that will make your life easier:

www.navigatorminiatures.com/prodtype.asp Air 200, around 25 planes to choose from (there is more, I seen the link to a larger store somewhere here but can't find it just now. Each pack is 2 planes.

www.skytrex.com/ Action 200. Loads of planes including bombers. They are more expensive than Air but have a lot more planes to choose from.

Both pages are brittish but there are american pages selling the models also, I just don't have those bookmarked.

The best is probably to buy what you like from both the collections together with some official planes.

1/200 is a limited scale, there are loads of good pre-painted planes in 1/144 you can find for a good price but it just wont work to mix 1/200 and 1/144. I am not really sure why they choosed such a small scale but I guess it was a decision based on storage space, a 1/144 B-17 is a large thing.

It will probably work fine to use the game with 1/144 or even 1/300 planes if you want too but it is frustrating not to be able to use the official models then.
