What are your Auto includes in decks?

By RocketDarth, in Star Wars: Destiny

Just wondering what were your auto includes in what color decks? For example I use two rocket launchers in all my red ranged damage decks, Lure of power in all blue villain decks, and dug in in all defense decks. Of course I can't leave out cards like "he doesn't like you" and "unpredictable"?

Blue heroes have both Rey and Force Speed (and thus Vibroknives) as autoincludes, sadly. The best blue hero decks are Rey/eObiWan, eRey/eQuiGon, Rey/eLuke, and eRey/eLuminara, so there's not a lot of options for my favorite faction, sadly... I've been meaning to try Luminara/Acolyte/Padawan, but I really don't feel like going to a tournament and losing every game and there's no casual Destiny night where I live (just a weekly tournament).

Yellow heroes, Second Chance and Rebel. Those cards are wickedly good in any deck. Maybe also Electroshock.

Red heroes have Hit and Run and "It's a Trap!". Those two are really really good. Plus Field Medic is close - it's a really good deal.

Blue villains don't actually have any. Isolation, Force Speed, Vibroknife, Sith Holocron, and Lure of Power are all really good, but they don't necessarily work in every single deck.

Red villains, Imperial Inspection, Endless Ranks, at least one non-unique character.

Yellow villains I agree with you about He Doesn't Like You. It's such a good card! Also probably Electroshock.

Fast Hands used to be an auto-include in any deck you could fit it into, but I actually see some decks now where it doesn't work. Also, all of this is a personal opinion. For pretty much any card, someone will be able to argue pretty convincingly why there's at least one deck where it won't work!

3+ character decks have Flank as a near auto-include.

Against the current meta, Red Villain should include The Best Defense.

Those are pretty much the only two I cannot see building without.

I agree about Fast hands, it really is a sad loss, it used to be in every deck with at least one yellow character and now I think we will see much less use of it now.

If you're using Rey, you're using Force Speed and Vibroknife.

BB-8 should go in every deck too.

The only thing I might consider as an auto-include is Flank for 3+ char decks. Maybe if I was allowed more cards in a deck I'd begin to consider some other cards as auto-includes but the deck sizes are far too limiting (and they should be!) currently to do so.

I should really use flank more often.....

Of course it depends on color. But in my villain blue decks. Sith Holocron, Force Speed, and Vibrokife, always.

Honestly there are very few cards I would consider Auto includes for something as broad as colour, the only truly auto includes I would ever say would be Sith holocron for blue villains, Electroshock for Yellow, he doesn’t like you for villain yellow and defensive stance for red Heroes. Probably Isolation for villain blue as well. Riot Baton is hard to leave out of any red villain decks but 3 x DT probably doesn’t run it.

Anything beyond that is fair game as far as I'm concerned.

I also just wanted to say that I like the premise of this thread, that you asked what are your auto-includes, because it changes a lot based on what your deckbuilding preferences are. Even Sith Holocron isn't necessarily an auto-include for everybody. A lot of DarkAnakin/Kylo decks are using only melee upgrades like Lightsaber and Vibroknife, so they don't use it.

What do you guys think about force throw? Is it still in the current meta? I have not seen much use of it now, just wondering what you thought.

Auto includes:

Blue - Rejuvenate

Yellow - Electroshock

Red - FN-2199

Blue: Deflect. A removal that also deals damage to your opponent? Yes please. Great against Palpatine and now that Fast Hand is out of the picture for Poe, it will also be very useful there.

Yellow: Electroshock. Only reason why I would not include it is if I know that my only yellow character is gonna die early. Other than that, there's always a place for this card. Bait N Switch is a close second.

Red: I don't think there is really one. Closest one would be DH-17 I guess, unless I run a melee deck (Grievous) or Mill. Good blaster for only 1 ressource. Hard to say no to that.

Melee deck: Vibroknife

Ranged deck: Holdout Blaster

Mill deck: Con Artist, unless I'm not running a yellow character.

3 character build: Flank.

As for your question regarding Force Throw. Now that Fast Hand is yellow only, it might see a comeback. It's a great special, only problem it had was that you did not have time to use it before your opponent could resolve his biggest die. Other little problem with Force Throw is that other that his special, the die is pretty average for 3 ressources. Works great with 3P0 or determination though.

I'm surprised that I haven't seen more Hold out Blasters. Them and vibroknife seem to be everywhere.

I am surprised as well about hold out blaster and vibroknife. @Red Castle is the first in this thread to even mention hold out blaster!!!

All depends on the deck but some of my auto includes are below.

Action efficiency... vibro knife, holdout blaster, hit and run, gaff stick and force speed.

Mitigation.... guard, Electrocute, isolation.

Survive... dug in, field medic, second chance.

Notable mention of with sith holocron, cunning, fast hands.

I feel like Holdout blaster used to be autoinclude in many decks, but i don't think it's as good since SoR came out. Unless you're Han/Rey or possibly Fn2199 looking to exploit the ambush action, it's an okay die with some really stiff competition...

That said. It does still go in my every shooting deck so i might be talking bollocks.

The only true auto include based on colour/faction for me is He Doesn't Like You. Just about every other card, there is enough variety in the colours that you won't ALWAYS want to take a card, so I wouldn't consider them auto includes.

There's some control cards in heroes that are probably close to being auto include, but that's more due to a lack of good options.

Yeah, hero control is tight. I find you have defense but not control such as "dug in" it's a good card but it doesn't remove dice. I tried to run eLeia and eMothma but I had so low health and so little control that I lost almost every game so easily that it just wasn't fun. Still having rocket launcher on a politician is fun........
