No FAQ on release day :(

By Sir13scott, in X-Wing

Nice new ships but no FAQ on any of the C-ROC stuff or on some of the new pilot and upgrade interactions from the new wave. How long do we have to wait?

What's your question on them?

Regionals start in Sept, right? So right around then.

Regional season starts in November.

Well, FAQ is Frequently Asked Questions so I guess we'll have to wait for questions to be asked frequently before they make it into the FAQ. If you send FFG the same question over and over again; does that count as frequently asked even if it's only by one player?

Has there average been a release day faq?

Everything is perfect, all playtester Monkeys reported maximum fun! Oh wait... shouldn't there be a TLT nerf?

I'm not sure where this expectation of a faq every wave release comes from.

For example on the reinforce in front or back arc, and the player has shot on both equally.

Rebel Nym, leaving a Cluster Mine or Conner net on the board under an enemy ship, when that ship activates next turn does the bomb go off?

Minefield mapper interactions with extra munitions, and some people are wonderfing about splitting up Cluster mines.

Spending the Reinforce for Lowhhricks ability when that ship is target locked by Omega leader, who is adding the evade?

Also everything to do with Jabba the Hutt an Cikatro's feedback array while cloaked

This is answered on the reinforce reference card that comes with the Auzituck. All that matters is if the attacker is in the Auzituck's arc or not. If they're in arc, only reinforce front applies. If they're out of arc, only reinforce rear applies. You don't have to do any additional measuring. The attacker also does NOT get any choice in this. It's purely based on being in arc or not.

My understanding is that the answer would be no, unless that ship's maneuver template touches the token or it gets bumped in a way that makes it land on the token again. This is consistent with how debris and asteroids work. It makes sense to me because those bombs detonate "when" you "overlap", as a one-time check, not as a continuous "any time you're in an overlapping state".

Yup, legit questions here.

Also, FFG is trolling us with a ton of articles for other games.

I literally have been dying to use Jabba competitively but can't until they fix his stupid text and answer questions about whether or not the tokens work from the grave

Probably from the fact that every release has about 10 things that need an errata or FAQ entry.

The rules for Jabba are included in the C-ROC booklet (similar to the VCX booklet containing rules for undocking and its special arc). Long story short, the tokens function for all ships and regardless of whether the ship carrying Jabba is still in play.

Wait for real?

I'm not seeing it from the booklet

There wouldn't usually be on release day. Hopefully tomorrow.

That's says nothing about if Jabba is removed from play

Mm is a single opprotunity. 0 chance youre dropping 2 sets o bombs per upgrade

Low clearly specifies "the defender adds"

Cant feedback without an attack opprotunity, so no to cloakbacck

But supposedly Frank Brooks has provided an email ruling to the contrary.

Exactly. The rules are telling you that the function of Illicit Token are governed by what is written on the Jabba the Hutt upgrade card. Since the rules saying that are written down and not on an upgrade card, they are never not in effect. So you can't turn off the instruction "look at the card and do what it says". It's just like referring to a bomb reference card for the effect - it's a rule telling you to refer to another game component and to follow the rules there. In play/out of play doesn't factor in.

If you want to rules lawyer it further and push FFG to tighten up the language, you do you, but what's written has pretty clear intent.

These emails have been wrong before

Had some conflicting replies to omega L back when he was coming out which ended up not being the case (re palp specifically)

Yeah. Hence why we need an FAQ. I'm not sure FFG is always late because they are just slow, or because everything has to go through the Mouse now.
