Fat Wullffwarro

I think the Auzituck shows potential as a decent tank. Wullffwarro in particular can move past being "just a tank" into the heavy-hitters category. Here's what I'm thinking of running:

Auzituck Gunship (30), Expertise (4), R2-D2 (4), C-3PO (3), Vectored Thrusters (2)

Dash Rendar (57)
YT-2400 Freighter (36), Lone Wolf (2), Heavy Laser Cannon (7), Rey (2), Outrider (5), Smuggling Compartment (0), Feedback Array (2), Counter-Measures (3)

Totalling 100 points.

Dash is pretty standard for this meta - fast, action efficient (with Rey) and deadly. The Feedback array eliminates the doughnut hole aces so love to exploit, and counter-measures helps against both ordinance (JM5Ks, mostly...) and swarms. Wullffwaroo is a mini fat Han - with Reinforce, 3P0 and R2-D2 he can tank 3 damage a turn, and expertise gives him some real firepower once his pilot ability kicks in.

The big threat to the list is TLTs, since Wulf doesn't have the tools to close to range 1 or defend against 4+attacks, and Dash hates R1 anyway. Miranda in particular could cause some long-term grief, and Dengar/Tel's jousting power could be a problem. What do you think?

If you're going fat Wullffwarro, wouldn't Predator be better than Expertise, as the ship doesn't have the target loc action? That would also enable you to go standard PtL Dash, if you want to.

Edit: Ok, the Predator alone is worse than having a permanent focus, however it enables you to go Predator + focus, while with Expertise you can't do anything about blanks, and I think a 2-ship list has to maximise its firepower.

Pred and Rey is probably the best loadout. Put in C-3PO for the passive mods too. But with Rey on Dash you're going to struggle to get the best build for both.

I think he is taking Expertise, so he can Reinforce every round to make Wulf even more survivable.

Oooh,, I like this combo, I built Nym Dash but might like wulff better.

A couple of thoughts though: In a two ship list Wulffarro should have engine upgrade in order to make turns actually happen. his hard 2 or 3 with a boost is really close to a 180, Vectored Thrusters will give you a little but not a lot towards a turn around.

Here is a variant given a few changes I like better. A bit less defensive though, 6 die rg 1 potential. Breach could be replaced with Jan Ors or Jyn Erso.

I really wanted him t reinforce each turn, yes. In addition Expertise is way better than predator offensively on 4 dice, which is what Wulf is going to be throwing most of the time. Focus+Predator is better, but ties up your action.

I don't like PTL Dash in this meta because of the many stress mechanics, plus the significantly lower maneuverability (and if you take Kanan, you get only focus + TL each turn anyway...).

Lone Wolf + Finn might seem really good, but when you're rolling 4 dice you'll average 1 blank anyway so that 5 points will be largely wasted. In the Wulf/Dash list, I believe Dash wants lone wolf more.

You're right. I kept playing with the list and switched it around exactly that way.

I believe Wullff's ability states "if you have no shields". By taking R2D2 crew you're effectively turning off his ability unless a higher PS shoots at you first and removes the shield.

R2-D2's ability is, like most, a "may" ability. You don't have to use it and you don't have to use C-3P0 either. With the combination of the two of them and the - also optional - reinforce token, it's fairly easy to control how much damage you take a round.

[edit] Also, at PS 7 he's going to take at least 1 damage before shooting in the Fenn + Dengar meta, so no worries at all.

You can do that with Pred and Rey, but you also get rerolls.
