3D printing. You can see the striations in the material. Now if only you could light em up... Actually, on that front, are they fully solid or is it hollow on the inside? I've had a few requests to light up 3D printed stuff that I've turned down because I don't know what all it'd be like. Obviously they would have to be printed in two shells so I can access the interior, but just wondering if they need to be solid.

Oddly, the thickness of the crusty shell varies, and I'm guessing that's because of the rate of cooling of the goo they use to print it. Theoretically if you do what Mel does and print shells then it's possible. Actually boring into them or bisecting them into hollow-able sections would be an interesting experiment, but IMHO not worth the bucks unless you've got money to burn. Plus, I'd be worried about their structural integrity once all the guts have been cleared out. Yes it's softer than the hard shell, but the way it honeycombs inside actually makes for a pretty durable model. I wish the Russian guy would respond to requests for unassembled models, but oh well.

Of course, if you REALLY wanted to, you could order these things, sand the crap out of them, and then send them to a recaster to have molds made, then have the shells cast in ABS plastic and light those, but boy, what a pain.

Ahh yes, now that I am at my computer I can see them. Still these look pretty **** amazing. Wish I had a 3d printer

Looks fantastic and Eyyy good use of Alien Luxury's yt-1300 guns. Is the Consular from the russian ebay seller?

I tried to find some turrets small enough for the AA banks on the Acclamator, but everything I found was to huge for the model. The Russian needed to cast the thing at twice the size that he did, but oh well. It struck me how close it was to Vigil size, so there's some conversion potential there using 40k thrust nozzles and some turrets. This biggest hurdle there would be that box under the Vigil's prow. I'm guessing that it's a small craft bay, but Fractalsponge has never shown the doors open.

The Charger is pretty spot on with the sliding scale chart, too. I checked it visually against the chart that was posted a while back and it matched up pretty well.

Now the only casts of his I want but don't have are the Nebulon and Immobilizer...

Where did you get the pegs? I just got a a charger c-70 (Thanks Jay!). I have ordered the guns from Mel on Shapeways.

The pegs and base are the Litko huge ship base kit, found on their site and Amazon. I glued the holders directly to the bottom of the ship. They're snug, but shallow, so I'd recommend either using the peg holders as a drill guide or getting extra pegs. When I first saw how thing they were I nearly balked and ordered thicker acrylic rods and rod holders from Secret Weapon miniatures, but the Charger is light enough to be okay on them. The Acclamator is one big hunk of plastic, however, and requires the bigger cross base. I reinforced it on the Litko base using L-shaped plastruct rod.

I wish the dude would just get rid of the Stargate garbage and print out more Star Wars ships (like a Hammerhead or a Brah'tok gunship) but oh well...

I had made the hammerhead corvette at scale 1/270 and would like to make molds of it (I'm also preparing molds for the YT-1000 I had made)

meanwhile I had prepared several turrets for those ships you can see them here on this links

I thought about the magnets, but the thing wasn't solid enough inside its hard candy shell to support them. One of the longer rod-type, maybe? I just remember the peg ones I had on hand being too shallow at the time, plus I would've had to somehow drill into the slender Litko rod.

Casting your Hammerhead is a great idea! Keep us all in the loop on that one!

You can find the STL files all over the place, but the only models I've seen are the expensive Studio Scale on and the toy, which is smaller than this one.

Hi guys, I am a newbie and am really interested in this kind of model! Some friends and me play an Edge of the Empire Campaign and some space fights we play out with the X-Wing rules. Now, they found a Consular class cruiser in a swamp on a planet in the unknown regions, long story, and want to overhaul it. They named it "Old Boy", and it would be GREAT to inculde him to my X-Wing fleet!

Maybe someone can post the url to the russian 3D prints dealer?

Sadly, the guy I got them from on eBay is out of business. These russian dudes, here today, gone tomorrow. I tried PM'ing him on here, but he never answered, so.... (shrugs?) Sad, because I wanted his Nebulon B and Immobilizer as well.

Your best bet is to shell out for a 3D print, buy the STL's and print them yourself.

You could probably find the STL files for it and then just print it on your very own 3D printer.....that you’d also have to to buy.

Okay, so not a perfect solution, but odds are good FFG will just make them to support the Clone Wars line.... probably?

I had some spare time, so I made up some quick and dirty cards for them. Feel free to make suggestions, rip apart mercilessly (well, please be nice). Damage decks for them.... are going to take some time, although flipping through them I feel like the existing ones could make decent stand-ins. (except for addressing the hangars on the Pelta, that is)

The Charger is made to be a fast, versatile gunboat....

Every time we see a Charger or Consular in the movies/series, it gets blown up, so I feel like its more natural state is below.

While the Pelta seems tough, with its three cards and copious amounts of space for crew and mods, it's easy to see how Darth Vader in one measly fighter blew one straight to the ship afterlife. I gave it enough space for all of Phoenix Squadron, the Ghost, and a stolen shuttle with a tracking device embedded in it. Also a reason to dock them.

I have this 3D-printed Acclamator, but it's actually only as long as a Raider Corvette model, so it got downgraded to the (larger/tougher) Imperial equivalent of a GR-75. As both are Clone Wars era ships, they share the same air defense batteries for their flying bridges.

Of course, if it gets attacked by swarms of droids/Rebels/whatever, you get some hot pizza...
