So I'm not entirely an expert on the lore of the setting, but how the frak can the Night King raise a dragon?

Given that Dragons are magical beings associated with Fire, and fire is the total opposite of how the Night King works, it should have been impossible.

Dead to Undead... You're complicating things too much.

There was an episode where they showed the ducts in Drogon's mouth, which suggested the flames are a chemical reaction.

The flames don't come from behind that, there's always a gap, as far as I've seen.

The question I'd ask is will he still be breathing anything out as an Ice Dragon.

Favorite fun scene as in laughable, lovable, camaraderie, good times fun. It reminded me of so many conversations that were had when I was in the army.

I figure he got the chains from ships that were trapped in ice up in the glacier shores of the winter lands beyond the wall. Also the Nightking seems to have some sort of power in seeing the way the Three Eyed Raven sees. It's not explained really; but maybe he saw that there would be a dragon when he got to this small lake and so he brought those chains with him. And I just realized that maybe thats the reason why the Nightking took so long to get there.

I figured that's why he had to put his hand on it probably used a lot of his power to do so and I don't think the dragon can spit fire anymore. Well I hope the dragon can't spit fire anymore.

Maybe spit liquid nitrogen, that would be cool; but I heard it's going to breath blue fire. Kinda reminds me the undead dragon from World of Warcraft.

Yet the scene where he almost fried Jamie shows the fire coming from much much deeper. Dragons aren't fully natural creatures in this setting.

It does light up, but you don't see flames coming from that far back, it could just be a heat catalyst for the chemical reaction.

If the combination of the two chemicals is lead by the temperature of the breath/exhalation, then a could be the breath might produce something like liquid nitrogen.

LOL! That would be hilarious. However the dragons are fireproof so unfortunately.

Maybe if HBO spent a little money on a CGI blooper skit of the Night Kings new pet setting itself on fire where he facepalms and his lieutenants are standing around giggling. LMAO!

That is hilarious, I'm pretty sure anyone would have done that. Not exactly a scene from the show; but still very fun. Episode 5 this season had tons of favorite fun scenes.

Was sad to see expendable dragon number one go. Horrified at prospect of Night King plus Dragon.

There was a lot of suspensions of disbelief in this episode:

super fast guy running back to Eastwatch, email raven to Danerys, supersonic dragon flight to find John Snow with his locator beacon. Snow coming out of the lake to be rescued by Uncle Ben.

But I don't care about that. I got to see what I've been waiting to see for years now: Dragons burning zombies!

Who thinks John Snow is going to kill the Night King in single combat?

Yeah... I would have definitely wrote to where the party brought with them a Maester with ravens or something like that. I actually looked up how far a raven can fly in a day and theoretically they can go 500-600 miles. I was surprised that only Thoros had bitten it, until they killed a dragon. Sounds like Viserion was the dragon who is now an undead dragon.

Jon and Dany are definitely happening.

There's a pretty good post on r/freefolk(warning, no spoiler tags and leaked info everywhere on that sub) detailing how long a raven and dragon flight would take. They had to be sitting on that lake for a few days.

I dont understand why the undead army was just waiting there. Obviously, the ice broke, but last I checked, the White Walkers bring extreme cold with them and would just freeze the water back to ice. Also, there looked to be 5 White Walkers, I am no mathologist, but I think those 5 plus the army could easily have handled Jon and his group. The obvious retort to that is the Night King knew the dragons were coming and they needed to see Jon and his group in order to be low enough for a spear attack to turn one.

NK could have just speared them all. He was 100% waiting for his dragon.

LOL, science has no business in GoT . They have undead, fast travel, and dragons.

But in normal terms, yes, I know that once the ice forms on top, it takes longer to form thicker, however again, the White Walkers have a "cold aura" that could freeze it quicker. With just an inch of ice, the undead could start crossing in small numbers then group up before getting to the "island".
