Homerules - One Reward card I made ;)

By brian31, in Runewars

The Emperor's Will Since the beginning, I found it disappointing that the hero can't participate in battles, even very slightly. So I imagined a Reward card type that could exist and operate for some rounds of the initiative during battles!

Thus, the heroes could find a reason not to just pick flowers along the mountains but also help from time to time their troops in battle (which I believe is perfectly consistent ...)

This type of card represents a kind of "home rule" that I created, which give the reward card the power to allow the hero to act during a battle in a determined round of initiative, using the current symbol area that the heroes are already using in a duel: the circle. On a special power icon, the effect trigger.

Thank you to Glenn Rane that I humbly borrowed a beautiful picture!

And thanks to FFG for having made such a good game again ;)

Nice approach. I like the fact that you didn't make it powerful. By the Way: "Will of the Emperor" already pleases my ears when I hear it.

I can just too well imagine myself harangueing and ordering my hero to battle. (Even though I am very happy with heroes not participating in battles under ordinary circumstances).

Just where did you get the background / icon for the card from ?

Thanks Chancellor ;)

By the way, I hate things who sound like "god mods"... I like when "home rules" come to give players a better experience of the game, and not to desserve it...

I like the actual system which give players an opportunity to play the heros in a paralel way in the game, and to assign them to some work that the other units aren't able to do. But I don't understand why the players are OBLIGED to do it this way only and don't have the possibility to let theirs heros to help sometimes their troups ( which will sounds absolutely normal in the case of a war between factions where every man is important to win, especially when he is a leader )

The idea when I decide to make some cards for the game were only to give heros a possibility to help, sometimes, but not everytime, 'cause they have a lot of things more important to do ;)

And for the background / icon for the card, I'm graphic designer, so it was not realy a problem to get them from the originals ! :)

I think I will post more cards by the futur, just for fun and to have the opinion of the community :DDD

check the typo "wich"

nice card and nice idea

its be easy to make up a bunch of house rule cards, and then if you put all your cards in sleeves with an opaque back, you could just add them to your deck.

Must be from the Jank ESL expansion.

Supremacy of Mind Another card I made this morning. I wanted to offer to players a new way for those who are looking for an "influence based" strategy (especially like with humans or elves...)

I think it works pretty well with a reasonable cost to ensure the enemy will not return the next turn. And also it isn't too powerfull with the "routed unit" condition needed.

Thanks to ZIV Qual ( http://www.zivcg.com ) for the illustration I used.

wich which wich which

But I didn't find this font ! What is it's name exactly ? Did you have any location where I may DL it ? :)

Beautifully produced, though I would avoid rewards that key off a specific initiative number. Well done and nicely constructed.

Spear of Destiny This time, I want to explore faction related effects on heroes reward cards.

Sounds great to my ears from a conceptual point of view, in fact, it seems to work great after being tested. Of course, a lot of possibilities could be tested with this game mechanic and this is only one of the hundred of options that could be created.

As usual, thanks to Miguel Coimbra ( www.miguelcoimbra.com ) for his art ;)

oh for god's sake.

Wich is mispelled

it is spelled WHICH

But this is for an FFG game, there's supposed to be some typos for the reprinted cards in the expansions.

Lol, sorry for my bad english, I did not understand you was talking about the word "wich" I wrote on each card ! :DDD

It will be rectified very soon, I promise ;)

english is meant to be mispelled, as every letter can sound a dozen different ways, and every sound can be spelled a dozen different ways

Saying that speakers of English are prone to misspelling words because there are many ways in English to spell words phonetically if you don't have a feel for how English words are spelled is not the same thing as saying that words in English are meant to be misspelled.

Ajqueira Queen of Shadow And one more! I imagined a card which introduces Bosses in quests (one thing I regret there have not ...)

The principle is fairly simple: a battle is started as usual, except that it does not end at the end of the initiative round 5 but restarts at the initiative round1, and this until one of the protagonists is defeated. This kind of battle is built for groups of 6-8 units (depending of the units of course...), which represents a challenge a little nicer than the conventional neutral creatures ;)

What do you think about it ?
