FFG Empire Bombing Modification instead of crew?

Imperial-wise i actually get more work out of the reveal bombs because i generally REALLY need that action for something else.

Also on a more general basis, he's probably just a otuch too expensive still, but BOY is Deathrain with Advanced Sensors, Lightweight Frame and Bomblet Generator fun.

He does make me think that a useful Imperial bomb upgrade might be to make you less likely to take damage from your own bombs - Deathrain is great but when he K turns, he literally can't avoid hitting himself with a front-guides bomb whilst stressed.

Huh? The only time Deathrain tends to hit his own bombs is when he drops clusters, as a barrelroll isnt enough to dodge it you kinda have to dial in a bank/turn away or you clip the outside edge.
Any other bomb the barrelroll moves him over enough to slip right by, even the massive proxy footprint.

Also for the record, Punishers w/ LWF is as bulky as a JM5K (9HP with 2 agi). Only real difference is 3die PWT at that point and a white sloop, but considering majority of JM5K builds are over 55pts...
Will they go toe-to-toe with a JM5K? probably not, even a contracted scout decked out like hes Dengar would probably still wreck a Punisher, but the Punisher wouldnt auto-die anymore since now he CAN evade things (and unlike 2die ships he will get LWF almost regardless, my main complaint about that card is it removes the Range3 benefit in vast majority of cases and messes with target priority as a result)

If you're stressed, you cannot escape a dial bomb out the front. Not possible. 2-straight boost and 1 bank boost don't get you out, nor does 1 bank/1 bank, and none of your white moves do either. Without the barrel roll, you can't dodge it.

The stress is the important part; the barrel roll is an action.

Oh i see what you mean.

Thats why you dont use the front guides then..you dont HAVE to use the front. Unless you are going for a block to do a kamikaze strat that is (legitimate, done it, its hilarious)

Because you want to hit your enemies with your bomb and they are (and/or are going to end up) in front of your starting position.

E: and yes, I have done that a couple of times now and it's brilliant until they roll blanks and you roll hits and you are sad :(

With the exception of the VT-49, all imperial Bomb-carriers also have missile slots. Might that work?

My though exactly.

Either put it in a missle slot or a title. Taking away EM or the covetted mod slot would be a bummer. They could always do the "this is a mod and you get +1 mod slot" thing as well.

I want something for Punishers that allows for 2 bombs per turn and something for Empire overall that increase their effectiveness.

If an actual modification is required, why not something like this

High Yield Munitions.

Imperial Only

When attacking with a missile, torpedo, or when friendly bombs detonate, you may change one focus result to a hit result.
