I think it's pretty remarkable that so many characters in this faction have no or at least low Glory stats. Also I appreciate that we see a good diverse set of Crab characters. It isn't all just shirtless Hida Berserkers. We need more Kuni cards That Witch Hunter art is awesome.

But yes, the Witch Hunter art is pretty great. I love the art on all these cards, except Vengful Beserker.

Vengeful Berserker is so exaggerated that I actually find it pretty humorous. Why wear chest armor. No weapon is getting through those rock hard abs and pectorals. Might as well show some skin and get a Shadowland's tan. It's hot down there in the south.

To me, it's the nose. Every time I look at it, it just throws me off. Kinda makes me think up of a pig.

But yes, over the top Crab is over the top.

I think you are underestimating how well the crab can defend themselves politically. While several of out guys are military focused a good number are balanced. Not to mention with the Himura Ambusher we can stop effects from happening as his effect trigger when he joins a conflict. In fact I hope that these are send home effects so that I can send Himura Ambusher back to cancel another ability. I see him as a great watch commander target. Also our stronghold boosts both combat and politics on each defender so even out scouts can help there.

With Intimidating Hida you can force your opponent to declare a conflict or louse honor. Up to 6 if a play set is 3 (I haven't head but it usually is) The crab do exactly what crab do sit back and make the opponent come to them. Although if you can build up some berserkers and the like you can have them sortie to perform a military conflict.

Honestly I think Crabs hardest match up is going to be scorpion or the mirror match.

Nah. The vast majority of Crab berserkers (at least on 'old5R') are "Dead Eyes" berserkers. They enter a state of emotionless detachment. It's more of a cold fury than a bestial, fiery anger.

Of course, there were a few exceptions, especially Hida Amoro (he was a horse's posterior. though).

That wasn't the impression I got, but maybe I'm misremembering the Berserker lore. They were my least favorite aspect of the faction. Also they seemed so broken in the 3rd edition RPG.

The 'Dead Eyes' technique works on more than just monsters,. It's also good for unruly schoolchildren, accountants, salesmen, and crazed exes.

I love the combo of Kisada's ability with Watch Commander. Lose 1 honor just to do an action, and then a 2nd and maybe that action is to get rid of Watch Commander... maybe it isn't... If it is, you are 2 actions behind (possibly 3) and still need to win the fight... Otherwise you'll just keep tanking honor the longer the battles go.

I think this is definitely a political defense card for Crab, maybe attached to Hiruma Yojimbo if possible, Hiruma Ambusher isn't too bad for it though. You could take advantage of Otomo Courtier or Wandering Ronin with this too.

With Border Defender, Hiruma Yojimbo, that Witch Hunter, Intimidating Hida, the shirtless Berserker and Kisada, Good Omens could be a staple in Crab Decks.

Reprieve also has its value shot up.

I see these 3+ fate costed Crab not caring about Mono no whatever. Their are the wall, and should be constant.

People complaining that these are expensive guys to be sacrificed but they shouldn't be. Eager scout or the 1/1 Hida and the conflict dudes are there for that reason. The beefy guys need to be fate-invested and stay for at least another turn.

While other clans deck is most likely to shift dramatically every turn, I see Crab slowly building to a point where they have either Kisada heavily fated or protected that they could counter-attack effortlessly. Though I could understand the initial thought of being to heavy-reliant on BigK, i would argue that is not the case.

Lion could be the best splash with the all bushi-gets-fate thing and their unbow tech.

Also Kuni+Cloud the Mind while always an option defensively, can be a thing offensively with the Yojimbo. Might want to add a Mystic though for consistency.

also Yasuki Dishonor Loyalist should be happy with Intimidating Hida and Watch Commander, it might not be right off the gates but dishonor could be right around the next dynasty pack.

Dishonor could be right around Scorpion clan reveal - Crab + Scorpion or Scorpion + Crab may well BOTH be able to play to dishonor.

I think it should be pointed out that Watch Commander triggers off cards being played while Kisada negates the effects of the first Action.

It will cost 1 honor to Let Go the Watch Commander but Miya Mystic can still sacrifice herself to remove the WC without losing honor.

Kisada can be played around sacrificing by a minor/useless Action to pop the bubble.

It probably will not cost 1 honor to Let Go the watch commander if reactions work the same way as other LCGs. Watch Commander would trigger after Let Go resolves, and would no longer be in play to trigger.

Yep, Kisada could be played around but the tempo loss for the opponent could be costly. And its for both conflict type on your both defense and offense and if the opponent cant win one, thats four actions negated..

and if Kisada just sits a home..well, you know how it goes.
