Based on discussions in this thread , I was thinking about a Snap Shot squad with a support ship; and the TIE/fo popped into my head.
Whilst this ship doesn't have the Snap Shot/Juke combination of the A-Wing Test Pilot, it does have a very snazzy dial and a tech slot - and it's cheaper all-up, allowing the supporting 'Big Gun' (which I think Snap Shot squads still need) to be a bit beefier.
- Omega Squadron Pilot - Snap Shot, Primed Thrusters
- Omega Squadron Pilot - Snap Shot, Primed Thrusters
- Omega Squadron Pilot - Snap Shot, Primed Thrusters
- Starkiller Base Pilot - Fire Control System, Intelligence Agent, Operations Specialist, Weapons Guidance, Sensor Clusters
The Upsilon lets you plan how you're going to block and trap with the TIE/fo fighters, who can Segnor and Koiogran and still barrel roll to get themselves into positions of maximum annoyance. Snap Shots either do damage, or trigger Operations Specialist, feeding focus tokens out for range 1 TIE fighter shots or adding to the Upsilon's pool of tokens, which can be cashed in offensively (via the 4-dice primary) or defensively (to turn a blank roll into an evade) as required.
If you think you're good enough at reading your opponent without the Intelligence Agent 'cheat', then dump him and swap one Omega Squadron Pilot for Zeta Ace - paired with Primed Thrusters he can do some seriously daft manoeuvres.
