I hope that by selecting crab, we can force out some of the cards they didn't want to share with us.

That's the goal. We have 3 cards that are completely unspoiled for Crab, 2 characters and 1 (most likely) 0 cost event. One is presumably being spoiled tonight by Bad Publicity, but the other two are going to be important in determining the viability of the clan, especially since the 2 are low cost characters (likely a 1 cost character and a 2 cost character). For a clan with a sacrifice theme, these low cost characters are even more important than normal.

In addition, we don't know what the Hida Guardian's text is. It would be great to figure that out.

I wonder if there is any chance for another holding. For some reason I was expecting there to be 3 holdings in the core set. I can't recall why I was under that impression.

I'm saying, can people stop saying "Oh, the bunch of maho-using traitors" every time the Phoenix clan are mentioned. As you say, it hasn't happened once in the new canon.

People do the same for Crab and the Alliance with the Shadowlands.

Kisada seems more tactically minded in the first fiction, so I really hope that he doesn't fall for that garbage again.

I agree that it can be a bit grating when the same thing is brought up about a clan over and over again even though that thing has not happened yet in the new story.

The old story has value, but it should not be treated as canon until we actually get to that point.

Besides, if FFG is smart, they'll likely not repeat very many big events from the old fiction, so the fact that these things happened in the old story line should be proof that they will likely not happen in the new story line.

At least I hope so....

This document is used to track each card release and, according to its numerical logic (which has held up pretty seamlessly so far, with a few alphabetical exceptions), there is no chance for any additional holdings.

Originally, someone read Borderlands Fortifications' card number as 36, which meant that 37 and 38 would have to be Holdings (and 39 would have to be either another holding or a Crane card), but it was revealed that Borderlands Fortification's card number was actually 38, which appropriately makes Kisada 37, Shuichi 36 and Funeral Pyre 39.

That was probably the reason.

I think FFG may actually have called it Card 36 themselves, in one of the first 2 articles.

I'm getting more and more curious to see if the Council has the same makeup as before.

Tadaka had some killer smoky eye shadow going on.

Whelp, it's official...due to popular demand, it looks like we get a preview of Crab vs. Dragon. Can't wait to see how these clans go head-to-head in an official gameplay video.

I hope this isn't just a "tutorial" video and we see what looks like a real-ish game.

TBH I'm hoping for it to be a bit of both. The previous news releases have given a general sense of the structure of a round, but it would sure be nice to have a video detailing/explaining what they're doing and why as they go, at least for the first round or two. I'm thinking something similar to the Watch It Played videos, except the live format would lend itself even better to immediate audience participation (or they could skip that part and just play the way they want, to show off cool combos and strategies).

I'd rather them release how to videos, for this, I'd like to just see how a game looks in the wild with a full ruleset and cards.
