Pelta That Never Dies

By Angry_Ewok, in Star Wars: Armada

Leia + Raymus+Projection Experts+ Shields to Max on a Pelta. I think I get to reveal an Eng. Dial, get a token, (that I will pitch at the start of the next turn) and still get 6 Eng. Points to Projection Expert around. Am I doing this right?

I played it that way Saturday and made some Hammerheads super hard to kill between that a Task Force Antillies.

Yup. You can also do it with a Vet captain, Hondo, and a comms net GR75 too if you want to spread things around on your ships.

Unless you know, if an MC30, Gladiator, MC80, ISD or VSD catches the Pelta.

Pretty good, I think I shall emulate your Pelta build in some casual games this weekend.

Well, it’s durable for sure. That said, one big damage spike will immediately destroy it so watch out for those ISDs, MC80s, MC30s, and Intel Officer Demolishers.

In that case you just give the Pelta the title and add Lando to help reduce the chances of getting that huge damage spike.

Watch out for Darth Vaders; I've heard he can solo one of those Peltas, no problem.

I saw that episode for the first time just a few weeks ago. It greatly annoyed me.

When you said "Pelta that never dies" i thought you mean something like this:

y4m1oNUC68xKPmyQvDRSZ-1s3EjtKmGrb3O-7hqz

And i really started to wonder how you were able to move the dust fields this way as rebel ;) .

As Imperial it is possible.

regen tactics have been pretty lack luster in armada in my experience, but I am trying to give my new hammerheads some additional staying power by supporting them with Leia, the above mentioned shield slinging Pelta, and the Task Force Antillies titles. They stick around pretty well. The Damage spike issue is always a concern and cannot by helped, but lists that grind ships down with fighters over the course of 2-3 turns can have a tougher time. The Pelta can combine with Shields to Max and make 3 shields a turn on a particular ship. over 3 turns that could be 9 damage mitigated. Not an air tight plan but an interesting way to use a Pelta. Plus the Disposable Capacitors make it a little more threatening these days.

Putting your commander on a Pelta makes it a prime target. That's like 100 points on a ship not designed to be trading blows with bigger ships, like an ISD which will catch you.

In my case... They're more than welcome to brave the Norra-fied B-Wing Minefield to try...

But don't you have to actually roll average damage for that to be scary? :D

Not really. Its *so* over-done that even sub-par scares people... And everyone at the moment is living in deathly fear of their overconfidence fuelling my Dice-Karma, and thus, that one-game where things won't go wrong for me...

Honestly, that stuff doesn't scare me anymore. I've gotten to the point where I'm taking huge risks because I'm betting I can pull things off and get my ships out with 1 hull left. So I will gladly fly into your fighter screen because you gotta deal with Ciena and Valen, at the very least. And if you can't kill my ship, I'm going to kill yours.

And then you know what happens? You roll max damage and I get sad...

Intel. Its not just for Offensive Fighter Wings. It makes Minefields better, too ;D

I wilfully admit though - a lot of my theorycrafting and recent practice has been all about BARCAPs and screens for all of the Imperial Fighter Shenanigans that are getting a Revamp.

So I'm relying on the Imps making aggressively silly mistakes, essentially... If they decide to play it cool and not dive in, that's when i struggle.

It's SC season so it's time to be super aggressive. Like last night where I killed 2 HH and blew my lead by losing 2 Glads to a Lib that I then couldn't kill with my Vic. Hyper Spaced with wrong ship and then deployed Demo at the wrong speed with the wrong commands and Insidious shouldn't have slowed down but I was going for the double arc when I should have ran away.

Don't gotta worry about Sloane if you kill the ships that deal damage. And who needs defense tokens anyway? Not like I can take ECM on all my ships, so go ahead and rip the tokens because Acc would kill me just as much. I'm taking a very nonchalant attitude towards Sloane.

"Keep Calm and Equip Mister Blissex"

After playing with Sloane, the best thing she does is a) makes flotillas way less tanky and b) makes TIEs and Interceptors hit way above their weightclass. She's good. Not insane, but if you love ISDs or Vics and TIEs, she's a great commander.
