We are still in early days of the new wave but is there any benefit in buying a second quasar?
I'm trying to get over a hundred dollars for free shipping on miniature market and its either a second quasar, a second gladiator, or even possibly a third hammerhead pack.

Does shipping cost more than, say, $15 or $20? Then the free shipping isn't worth purchasing another item you don't actually want. Don't fall for the trap of "I have to spend more money so I can save a smaller amount of money." You're better off paying shipping for your current order than spending an extra $30-40 in order to save $10.
I bought 3 Quasars but that's me. I think 2 of the ships would give you some flexibility with builds especially if you are using the CC Campaign.
Two. Why have one when you can have two for twice the price!
One is an easy buy.
I bought two and I think that's pretty much the maximum you should buy. I can't imagine ever running more than that and quite frequently it will be just the one. It depends on how squad-crazy you intend to go and what you intend to do with the second Quasar that would be better than going for two Gozantis instead.
I hope for a day when I can run 4 Quasar IIs (red AA die) with some upgrade that adds a AA die!

I bought two of them because with 500 points in CC (or higher in casual play), those will be really great for your squadrons
I bought two for the campaign. We are going to replay it in a few weeks and each side will command 4 fleets instead of three so I think 2 quasars will be useful in this format.

Get a second Gladiator. Don't know why you would need another squad 4 ship that is quite fragile and has a massive front arc to take a pounding.
If you were doing near max TIEs, two would be great... Like 10TF, 6TB

Should be good with just one. But why not buy from your local store since they are the ones the hold tournments and such, unless you dont have one nearby
As others have said... if you play games bigger than 400p then two is pretty good. For 400p then I think one is probably enough.

Honestly I haven't bought more than one yet, but I really want four disposable capacitors for a four VSD list.
I have two... and ran two last night. But honestly 1 is good enough for ALOT of lists.
The extra Disposable Capacitors is really nice though.

My local rarely holds tournaments, and is an average of about 35% more expensive than most reputable (IE someone's FLGS, if not mine) gaming stores. At the end of the day, money is money. I work my butt off every week, often desperately unsociable hours. I'm fully ok with supporting my local store, but I'm not going to pay an over-the-odds premium for the privilege, just because they're local. Especially when there's very little in return. There's plenty of reasons why one may not buy local.

Are they selling over MSRP, or just more expensive than other local competition?
Most of the places that have de facto discounts on products are getting most of their sales from online such as Frontline Gaming or Miniature Market or CoolStuffInc and get discounts on their own purchases for buying in bulk.
I'm not sure if I'll ever play 2 Qasars, but I'm considering buying another for the cards (more disposable capacitor to trade for external racks with a friend and an additionnal Quad Battery turret).
I have only played one game with the Qasar yet and he has over performed his role. He survived much longer than he should had due to multiple factors. I'm eager to try to again, but I feel that running two plus 8-10 squads would seriously gimp out the list's ship offensive ability or activation count. Perhaps it could work as a 3 activation list with an avenger ISD gunnery team with Sloane...

Truthfully, it's hard to know, because I've never seen MSRP breakdowns for individual countries for Armada; only a US MSRP on the FFG site, and the apparent MSRP shown on the likes of Amazon. I'm not suggesting they're deliberately scalping with the price they sell at, but the nearest store I can compare them to (similarly independent, relatively small store) is noticeably cheaper across the board.
If I find an item in a store at a price I'm willing to pay, I'll buy it. I understand that the prices here are a bit higher than elsewhere, and have to accept that (€22-25 is the average price of squadrons, for example), but I'm not super enthused about the idea of paying over the odds just because they're the local crowd. I did that for years playing X-wing (which has definitely become massively more expensive) because the scene was solid, and well supported. Armada isn't even close to supported, and the scene is spotty at best.
