Modular Encounters

By edwardavern, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

Hi all

Other than FFG's location source books ( Nal Hutta , Suns of Fortune , Strongholds of Resistance , Nexus of Power ), are there any other locations where I could find smaller adventures, the sort that could perhaps be run in a session. Any WEG or Saga books that anyone can recommend? Or any other sources?

Thanks in advance.

I'd also be very interested in this. Modular encounters are a great help as a GM.

Have you looked through the fan-made environmental set-pieces? Excellent stuff, and may be what you're looking for.

There's a lot for both, though to find it you'll either have to find the sources online or buy it used. I know WotC's Galaxy at War , Galaxy of Intrigue , and The Unknown Regions all had sections similar to the modular encounters. There's also the PDF adventures they released. You can find most of them via internet archives, it just takes some digging.

There are too many places WEG would shove adventures to list them all. The Adventure Journals had some, you just had to sift through the content.

Most of the career books have short adventure seeds in the back. I'm finding the bounty hunter book to be very helpful, there are three plot outlines in there.

I would also recommend going to sites like DriveThruRPG.com and look around. As a starting point, I'd recommend the 21 Plots PDF for the Traveller system. For $5 you can't beat it as an idea mine. If you like that one, there are a whole series, including interesting NPCs, and they've all been pretty useful.

Note these are not fleshed out adventures with stats, but you really don't need any more than the basic plot, shift it to a Star Wars location, grab some adversary decks, and run with it.

There are also a lot of fully fleshed out adventures for Traveller, I find these the easiest to convert to Star Wars because they tend to focus on characters and motivations rather than specific details of the setting, so it's dead simple to convert.

Thank you for supplying that, been looking for that for a while!

Also love modular adventures. Would love to see a book devoted to them at some point.

Wow. That is awesome. Printing now for my campaign :)

EDIT: Actually, the whole site is awesome! Some great materials there.
