Not to nitpick, but to me this makes it sound like "the maneuver" at the end would refer to the maneuver revealed and would then not be possible as you're not performing a maneuver revealed on your dial. I think it's fair to consider it as replacing the normal "when you reveal..." part with "after you execute a maneuver", possibly with the stipulation that if you bumped and therefore didn't complete the maneuver, you don't have the option to drop your bomb. I think the x-7 title for defenders got a similar treatment in that you must reveal and execute a 3+ speed maneuver without bumping or overlapping to get your evade (or else you didn't complete your maneuver and aren't being as dodgy).

That all being said, I'm going to have to second Zoidberg's question of does it need a nerf? Nym has a hard counter in ion's and can be outflown even by lower PS pilots. Genius is Nym's counter to ion's to keep her somewhat effective with her bombs. You can still play around it, and ions are still effective limiters against her, just not the hard counters they are without it.

@Jimbawa I was refering to the post by @sharrrp :

My personal opinion on this is that you can NOT use "Genius" to drop a bomb when Ionized. My basis for this is the wording "when you reveal YOUR maneuver" and "after you execute YOUR maneuver" as opposed to executing "A" maneuver. That seems to imply that you do need to have a maneuver that you have assigned in order to trigger "Genius". If "Genius" did specify "A" maneuver then I would say yes, drop the bomb when ionized for sure but he does not. It could be just an oversight in the wording during design but we gotta go RAW. RAI is very not clear in this case and this might not have even come up in play test design.

Then I suggested that this would need to be 'the' not 'your' because 'your' is already well defined and means something done by a specific ship (hence 'after you execute your maneuver' is nothing more than a maneuver that you performed, not the same as you assigned - may be changed by other means as well).

X7 is totally different story and that is not really related. It was simply nerfed and now works different way than it used to..

I believe if you separate the steps, it all makes sense.

1 - Genius says his ability works " if you are equipped with a bomb that can be dropped when you reveal your maneuver". This is the first condition for his ability to trigger. Bomblets are bombs that can be droped before you reveal your maneuver so that condition is met.

2 - Genius says " you may drop the bomb after you execute your maneuver instead". As previous FAQ entries have already ruled out (see Nien Nunb crew) the ion move is considered to be a maneuver so this condition is met as well. You are at the moment after you executed a maneuver.

Genius does not say that you need to reveal a dial for his ability to trigger...

@Thormind that is what I was trying to get across. That it should be allowed by the wording on the card, and it's not world ending that it does work like that.

ah ok, got you wrong then, sry. I agree that is not word ending. You kinda have a good idea of where the bombs will be if Nym is ionized...
