Deck building help: Two-Sphere Gimli/Legolas

By Flrbb, in Strategy and deck-building

I want do build a deck with Gimli and Legolas and keep it in two spheres. That purple Aragorn might be powerfull, but this card is not among my favourits, so I am in need of another 3rd hero. As the two cards Stweard of Gondor and Light of Valinor are mostly in use by other decks I'd tend to chose Theodred (Arwen is used quite often, too).

Which one would you chose? Also, which base concepts do you would build with these two heroes?

I came up with this one: http://ringsdb.com/decklist/view/5769/two-hunters-1.0 Any ideas for increasing its strength?

I love Armored Destrier on a defender, and it's not unique. The Day's Rising is a good complement to Dwarven Shield; with both on you're guaranteed to get a resource when you defend.

Leaving Unexpected Courage out because of your many ready options in your deck seems a little odd to me if intended for multiplayer. Don't the people you play with have any heroes that could really use unconditional readying?

I like Theodred for providing resources and triggering Heir of Mardil. I'd go to 3x Elven Light, to increase the chance you start with a card you want Legolas to toss. Gimli will cost you a resource when he needs Legolas to attack, but that won't be always and Theodred is generating an extra resource every turn (and Gimli can generate resources by defending). Legolas will want to ready Gimli even if it's unsure that he'll be needed to defend, and Elven-light is your only consistent source of card draw.
