Leia and Squads?

Put ET on it and hold onto a nav token. With SFO, you can run Nav, Squad, Squad, Nav, Squad, Squad, Nav and make sure you hit the correct command and burn the token for an extra move. In my experience with command 3 ships, by the time I hit that 3rd command is when I use SFO. You could also bank a squad token early so when you nav you can still use Liberty.

I think the bigger problem is using a Liberty.

With Leia? Yeah. She's already 38 points and helps out little ships SO much! Engineering 2 becoming 3 is super helpful for keeping you alive I've found.

All true things sir - but then why take Leia? Fundamentally she opposes the token based play the Liberty needs for maximum flexibility...

(I'm still eager to try and find a successful use for Liberty...)

but i I agree with the others that Leia's niche is buffing low squadron and engineering value ships....have been having a decent time using squadron 1 ships to push squadrons (CR90's, HH's, Assault Pelta) when needed.

I do like the fact that she turns your squadrons 1 ships into squadrons 2, effectively making them flotillas if needed.

Shes good for nav also. If you put nav teams on a ship you can choose whether you want ozzels effect or madine's.

And honestly, conf fire.

Actually I'm not s huge fan of her with engineering unless;

you put engineering teams on a vette (lol engineering 5 on trc90), or you already had a relatively large engineering value.

Engineering 4. Base 2, Token adds 1, Engineering Team adds 1. Engineering Team doesn't increase your engineering value, it just adds an extra engineering point, so the token doesn't get to double-dip.

Still puts it on par with every other ship in the game other than the Interdictor, which is impressive.

Ah havent read the card for a while. Thought it increased the value.

I mean if you had the Redemption Neb-B hanging around, you would be correct!

I don't think it will be super popular overall, but in games of 500+ points with Leia I could absolutely see bringing the Redemption around to super-charge the repair commands of your normally fragile small ships.

I've already built that list.

For 400 points?

Yes. I did not say I was happy with it.

But unlimited shields.

If you had the Redemption Neb-B hanging around as well . Then yes.

Both Engineering Team and Redemption would bring it to 5 Engineering Points Generated from an Engineering 2 Basis...

But Redemption is essentially a Bubble of Engineering Teams... Nothing other than "Power failure" actually changes Engineering Value...

Engineering Leia: I thought about building around Peltas with this in mind. It's the cheapest engineering 4 ship around.....so engineering 6/7/8 each turn depending on supporting upgrades (Engineering Team, Redemption).

The biggest weakness is that Peltas can still be taken down fairly quickly (one or two-shot and even engineering 7 won't stop Demolisher from wrecking you)...that and speed 2. :(

Peltas are 2/3rd Size Victories for 2/3rds the Cost.

Things (available to the rebels) that "Fix" the Victory... Fix the Pelta... (ie, dCaps, External Racks, as appropriate).

With a bonus: They can take Engine Techs.

With a downside: They can't get JJ.

In the end... You're still only getting 2/3rds of the Survivability and 2/3rds the Capability out of them... For 2/3rds of the Cost.

So I feel , if Victories are making an upswing based on certain upgrades - most of those can be applied to the Pelta, too... Only you get 33% more of them for the same cost...

For me the big difference between them is the Pelta's lack of a weapons team slot. The inability to take Gunnery Teams (for Command) or OE (for Assault) really makes them not as viable offensively. But as you say, you get what you pay for. ;)
