Any better tutorial fleet configurations out there?

Hey guys,

I'm about to introduce a new player tonight to Armada and am wondering if there are any better tutorial fleet builds available to use? I have (much to my wife's annoyance) multiple copies of everything produced so far, so I wanted to show off a little more variety than the base Victory + 6 TIE Fighters vs. the CR90, Nebulon-B, and 4 x-wings, all without any upgrade cards. Any suggestions?

It's easy to forget how overwhelming it can be to learn a new game. For the very first ever game it is good to go with the simple starter battle.

Perhaps a 2nd battle could involve something a step up and with more complexity?

What faction are you planning on giving him? If I was playing first time, I'd like most to run the most iconic ships, then create something not too complicated or hard around it

I was going to let him choose. I know that I don't want to overwhelm with the rules (hence why no upgrade cards to start). I just thought to mix up the ships/squadrons used. It probably does make sense to stick with the base set.

Just add an Imperial Command cruiser for the imperials and a Hammerhead for the rebels.

Maybe swap out 1 X-wing squadron for a Y-wing or B-wing, and 1 TIE fighter squadron for a Tie bomber, but I wouldn't change it up to much past that.
