Does anyone know the full list of new investigators in Path To Carcosa? Don't need lots of details, just curious on the identities.
New Investigators
I feel like talking about that on the official ffg forums is a bad idea, considering it wasn't supposed to happen and they worked pretty quickly to remove it.
Fair enough.
What has been revealed has been revealed, what has been seen cannot be unseen...
Guardian - Mark Harrigan (I think)
Seeker/Survivor - Min Thi Phan
Rogue/Mystic - Sefina Rousseau
Mystic - Akachi Onyele (Officially Spoiled)
Survivor/Guardian - William Yorick
Neutral - Lola Hayes (Officially Spoiled)

Definitely not looking to get into a discussion of specific stats on this board. Thanks, Asa. ![]()
Mark is pure Guardian and Sefina (spelling is correct) gets Mystic as a secondary class.
I think Akachi is pure Mystic as well, although her deckbuilding interestingly allows anything with "charges". Not sure what that will be outside Mystic.
Nice that Min Thi Pan is in there. My wife always loves playing as her (in Eldritch Horror), so maybe she will play along this run ![]()

Updated my post. Mark & Akachi both do get some additional deckbuilding options, but I can't recall them, plus they have not been fully spoiled.

Her deckbuilding gives me a nosebleed just thinking about it.
Sigh.. guess I'll join in since she was spoiled officially. I think picking Guardian and Seeker for two of them is a solid choice. Generally speaking, you want to either be finding clues or killing monsters, right? Well, you usually can only do one or the other at any given time, making it the perfect two classes to switch between. The third is a bit more tricky...
I'm currently planning on building her to focus on clue gathering (Seeker) and backup combat (Survivor) with Mystic for my third option. Between Delve too Deep and Drawn into the flames, seems perfect to also include Ward. Planning on going Dark Horse route, so that no matter what her role, she is likely working with 4 base stats.

I think Ward will be hard to use with her, because you'll have to end each turn as Mystic to make it work. That's going to limit your role flips considerably.
I'm planning to try building her more broadly than that, focusing on abilities that she doesn't have to be in her role for. All the passive abilities she can get, and then 1-2 active asset/event roles. Guardian seems like a no-brainer for weapon usage, and events like Dodge. Mystic might be overly complicated, but being able to combine the high-cost Mystic spells with Rogue's money-making options has some interesting potential too.
My main concern with her is that while she's interesting, she's just not worth the hassle. The flexibility could be good for solo, but in larger groups the core classes we've already got make fine generalists.

The idea is to use Ward after you've got Drawn into the Flames or Delve too Deep (or both). The Mystic bundle will force you to draw additional encounter cards, and Ward is there to give you a potential to negate it.
I just realized in the other thread that her weakness discards your assets from play, so that is crazy dangerous.
I do agree that she will likely just not pan out as being worth the effort or risks. but the concept looks too interesting for me to pass up.

This is one of the reasons I like the idea of going more rainbow with her, and focusing on the passive stats. The more distributed you are, the less this will hurt, and if you don't need any actives in a turn you can afford to flip to a class you haven't got anything out for.
So what passive stats are you looking at adding?

All of them ![]()
Basically, mix and match everything you can to get the stats up. Dr. Milan, Holy Rosary, Beat Cop, Magnifying Glass, Cat Burglar, etc. Charisma is going to be an important first buy, and probably second - a lot of the stat increases come from allies. Dark Horse is a possibility as well, but I'm still trying to decide how much I like it in general. But it shouldn't be too hard to get her to at least 4s across the board, and rely on skill cards from there.
Milan especially, and Cat Burglar to a lesser extent, are likely going to be claimed already by other investigators. Though I supposed I should point out I'm building for a 4 player group, so your mileage will vary.
Yeah, it will definitely be harder in a bigger group - but that's going to apply to Lola across the board, especially for allies. She's going to compete with everyone.
The other thing that could be interesting would be to focus on the permanent stat boosters. She's the first character that can get multiples of them, and she could cover all the stats with two purchases. She'd had to flip between them, but it could work pretty well. Half would be covered by Streetwise, so she could also include Rogue money generation. They'd also be immune to her weakness.
Yea, I actually won't be surprised if I don't get 3 of those permanents just to help mitigate the weakness and be able to boost stats regardless of current role.
In the group I'm currently building for, we won't have a dedicated Seeker, so I get Milan. We will have Lola, Roland, Maria and Wendy.

The Scrying will be to try to avoid the weakness or to mitigate it.

Deck isn't published ![]()
Ah, wrong link. It's fixed now.
Because of her weaknesses, I am starting to think she may benefit from a relative low asset count. Perhaps a but more of a focus on events, skills and permanents than other decks. Usually I go 1/3-1/2 assets. Maybe I flip the numbers on them.
I am pretty sure a full brace of core neutral skills is going to be a must have for her. Not only does it help no matter what class she is in, it helps mitigate her weakness (if you use no neutral assets). If you count her special cards and basic weaknesses, that would make 15/40 of your deck neutrals making the remainder of the three classes hover around 8.3/40. It may not be a bad idea to max her neutral events and skills.
Conversely, I do agree that passive bonuses might be the way to go. If it helps, here is a list of non story assets. Guardian seems like a must have since it has the most in one class and one is an accessory. Survivor is tempting due to Dark Horse which uses no slots, but I think it will be challenging to use it properly due to the high cost of all the other boost cards that you will want to put down and you can't control the order you draw them in. The question I have is how far into the game will it be before you can actually benefit from Dark Horse, then again Dark Horse may be all you need. Rogue is interesting because you don't have any level 0 allies (with passive boosts), so you can add them in after you have Charisma and use the slots with less duplication early on. Seeker seems actually a weak choice if you are going for max passives. There is also the bonus of helping her low health/sanity.
Assuming you go full neutral skills, 14 out of the remaining 25 slots need to have boosting skills in them if you want to go max passives. Those twelves eleven slots could probably be used for combat assets, events and skills. This makes building her much easier.
