Gozanti carrier

By WhisperEcho, in X-Wing Rules Questions

I remember seeing that the TIE Advanced Prototype can not be on the Gozanti, but I cannot find it. I know that The the FO's and SF's can because of the TIE name but wouldn't that be the same as TIE advance/ prototype?

The cards and rules insert for the Gozanti establish which ship types can dock. The Rules Reference and FAQ have entries that apply to ship type. Page 14 of the FAQ under "Youngster" established that TIE/fo Fighter and TIE/sf Fighter are both TIE Fighters. The same precedent applies to docking on the Gozanti. However, all TIE Fighters are not TIE/fo or TIE/sf, so you still can't mix and match the ones you dock. On page 20 of the FAQ, the entries for the TIE/x1 and TIE/v1 titles set the precedent that the TIE Advanced and TIE Adv. Prototype are distinct ship types.

Here's my opinion: if you're playing Epic, then you're most likely playing casually. Do what you want, as long as your opponent agrees. The TIE Adv. Prototype docks with the Gozanti on screen in Star Wars Rebels. The TIE Advanced does not do that in any canon source material I know of. Also there are episodes with different types of TIEs docked to the same Gozanti. FFG doesn't get it right every time.
