The most fun in X-Wing?

By doobleg, in X-Wing

winning with a jumpmaster

Was playing my Wedge, Luke, Biggs list on Saturday for store champs against a mindlink list with Dengar, Fenn Rau, and Inaldra. A fairly meta list vs my clearly not meta but fun list. Mine was regen and Expertise on the aces, R2-F2 on Biggs, with IA all around.

I didn't have any repositioning and needed to stay in formation, so while I was trying to take down Fenn first I also have to take shots at what I can take regardless. I put some serious damage into Dengar when I had the opportunity, and shortly after Biggs died I took out Fenn. Next Luke died and Wedge's droid took a hit. So it was all down to a 1 hull Wedge with no droid vs Inaldra and a seriously damaged Dengar.

I had initiative, and within Dengar's arc Wedge pushes through the final blow. Dengar's ability return shot misses.... Dengar's simultaneous fire regular shot then misses! Dengar was dead and Wedge was still alive! I then swing Wedge behind Inaldra and 2 turns later the game was over. Wedge pulls it through! I was cheering a bit loud that game :D

How could he bring 2 B-wings with ion cannons (cheapest 25 each), an ARC-170 (cheapest 25), a Y-wing with TLT (cheapest 24), and the regenerating K-wing with TLT (Miranda for 35 points)? That adds together 134 points.

Oh, local store plays at 150 points.

I've been having fun playing sycks with Fenn. Sunny with light syck is fun.

They're super squishy, but that makes it fun. Winning a match with a one-hull Quinn Jast's second cluster missile volley was a great moment.

The last store champ i played at my Rey went down too early, but Norra finished off Quickdraw and the inquisitor and then lost after reducing the remaining s/f to one hull.

Well, it's more that you never get chance to shoot at the same guy twice! I want 'hands free' attack dice but FCS just isn't working out.

Ah, but that's what the full stop is for - they have a tough time escaping your arc when your arc doesn't budge. Still, your mileage may vary. :)
