Hobbytown Store Championship 7/8/17

By Caldias, in Star Wars: Armada Battle Reports

Well, I had the pleasure of venturing out to Fayetteville, NC for a store championship. The event was in Hobbytown, which was a great store with excellent staff. All the local players were a lot of fun to game with and enthusiastic about the game, which was really cool to see. I was able to place first place for Sloane:

(only change is DTT is a placeholder on the ISD for quad battery turrets)

I don't think I need to delve into each game, but here are my thoughts:

- Quasar is just as fragile as it seems, but also interesting in it did draw a substantial amount of fire away from my ISD.

- Avenger and Boarding Troopers is as bonkers as you think

- Sloane's ability is great.

- the FAQ changes definitely improved the game substantially.

- Grand inquisitor and the Quad turbolaser works SO well.

So this is a store champs, so take all this with a grain of salt. We had 9 imperial players out of 11, and 6th, 2nd, and 3rd place were all rocking tooled up VSD IIs. I am beat, but had a BLAST.

Good to hear Fayetteville has a solid scene if I ever end up back there. 11 is a good showing.

The TO said the community sort of ebbs and flows due to the nature of a military town (as you are well aware). But he says there's usually enough leaders in place to keep the community going strong, and I believe they mentioned having a fair amount of X-Wing crossover into Armada.

That's awesome.
