So those two can be a thing, right? This version probably has both of them way too fat, but I wanted to see if we could get a conversation started.

Yeah I think these two are gonna be a lovely combo, though they're quite squishy on their own. Nonetheless, this is my current plan:

Captain Nym

Predator

TLT

EM

Concussion Missiles

Bomblet Generator

Sabine Wren

Long-Range Scanners

Miranda Doni

Conner Nets or Cluster Mines

The idea is that not only do you get off a hopefully brutal alpha strike with both of them having a target lock to spend and a focus to use on their initial ordinance volley, but to follow them is stupid and frankly they'll get bombed no matter what. Target priority is also hard: do you leave Sabine or Regen until the end? Admittedly, with only 19 HP between them and 1 agility each they can still melt fast.

Yeah, I love the idea of them both at PS8, but I don't know if they can survive any sort of alpha strike. I'm thinking Nym has to be PS10 to make PS9+ alpha lists at least consider the ramifications of dealing with him. I think it's a dangerous combo, but can lead to abject failure if one of them gets caught.

I love the idea of an alpha strike Nym with VI. Shooting before aces like Fenn and Dengar is huge. Plus, dropping bombs after them is big. And with genius/bomblet generator on Nym, there are sooo many options.

With that said, do you think Miranda is the best 2nd? Would you be better off with trying another PS10 and going all out on the alpha strike idea? Here was my original thought

Nym - VI, EM, concussion missiles, Rey, G-chips, bomblet generator - 42 points

Wedge antilles, adaptability, R2 astromech, plasma torpedoes, G-chips. 33 points

Airen Cracken - VI, homing missiles, g-chips - 25 points

It's squishy, and I could make arguments about Sabine and LRS versus Rey and G-chips for crew and mod. but 3 missiles that hit before anybody, including aces, and wedge will reduce agility and do a crit. Airen should fire first, let wedge take a focus, Nym and Wedge fire. Odds are very good that you are taking a ship off the board.

In this thread I'm focusing more on the viability of Miranda/Nym, but yeah...I've been trying out a Rebel alpha list with Nym. It's done well so far in several casual games and really puts a hurt on Attanni lists.

I like the tweak. I think these just needs to be put on the table and see how it does. Bombing lists are so much about how they're flown, it's really hard to just look at the numbers and get a good idea of their performance.

I like the 3PO on Miranda. Him, plus regen makes her tough to kill. If she makes it with all her hull and some shields to the end game, you've probably won

Agreed. That tweak also creates more target priority issues, probably leaning toward going after Nym first.

Agreed. If I was going against it, I would want to focus fire Nym and try to burn him down quickly.

The nice thing it helps control range and engagement. So If they get too close to Nym there is a good chance of them receiving two unblockable damage, getting bombed... the usual. Then Miranda can fill in the 2-3 void. There is a lot to consider here, won't be a fun play experience.
