Running games as a new GM with the system. One of the things I noticed right away was the way Range Bands work very well to keep play fast and cinematic. I was seeking some advice on how you handle placement of enemies at start of combat so that it's described in a way the players can understand. I conceptualize the range bands to not be set spans (0-3m, 4-15m, etc.), but more elastic descriptions of what the shot is like given the overall conditions of what is happening. Time crunch, Individual skill, the kind of day you are having, falling objects, incoming fire, trying to avoid hitting allies or fuel containers, firing between elevations, etc.
So given all of this does anyone have a descriptive way of portraying different range bands? I know everyone at the table is probably aware of the range bands, but do you just say "medium range" ? I'm ok with that but just curious about other possibilities.
Thank you for any input
