Where is your place in the Great Order?

Speaking from personal expirience 'hopeless romantic' is often a euphamisim for 'dumbass':P

I'd have pegged you as a Crane for sure.:)

and yes, I was the dumbass.

In all honesty I know nothing about the non Kakita Crane families. So I wouldn't know. (I have just started studying the family origins of Clan's, but only two down so far)

As for dumb as? I have ignored a warning flag or two. But being a hopeless romantic comes in pretty handy when you finally get lucky.

Dragon Agasha shugenja, and kuge. I always liked the Agasha foundry lore, and if you have the choice, why not choose nobility? (and the least restrictive clan nobility at that)

I'm not going to assume massive karmic debt that leaves me a peasant.

Realistically the majority of us would be peasants. Hopefully I'd be a crab or a dragon peasant. Find some weapons and twenty goblin winter myself into a family.

Sounds good to me. Maybe get some Togashi tattoos, how hard can becoming a monk really be? You can't be born to it, right?

You'd make a good Crane:)

As I usually hang out with Dragons, Scorpions, and Lions those are usually fighting words. ?

To the Lion 'hello' is a fighting word

The Scorpion are just jealous.

The Dragon are poor and spout incomprehensible gibberish.

After the Mighty Crab, The Crane are a fairly awesome second place

But the story I'm putting together is going to follow a Crane politician next... Maybe you could be a Crane Socialite. Ya know, rich, fabulous, and great at parties ^_^

You don't even need a school to be a socialite, just rich. There is a lot of freedom in what your character actually does.

This is a tough one since there's at least one family in each clan I wouldn't mind finding a place in. At the end of the day I would personally go with the Miya as my family has everyone in a public service/government job or career. I also don't mind that I'm not (usually) entangled with all this clan bickering. Gotta serve the higher power!

Outside of that, here's the top for each clan

Crab - Yasuki because of the merchant/business side. Plus you get to stick it to the Crane at any opportunity.

Unicorn - Ide family for their courtier school.

Dragon - Chiyu

Lion - Kitsu for the spiritual record keeping and history.

Crane - Daidoji for pirate and harrier stuff. Yeah, I know its not like Mantis pirate stuff but close enough till that clan comes back.

Scorpion - Bayushi as the honest Scorpion. Yeah, I know it would be a tough life, but someone has to be that guy every now and again. I always loved the idea since the first clan rpg book.

Phoenix - Sesei family for being proactive!

Let me study up the families first. Rich socialite Shugenja with a tricky minor air kami that does me favors for treats could be fun.

Oh I almost forgot!

Tonbo Dragonfly! My job is to write love poetry, practice magic, hang out with crazy monks, and translate the madness of crazy monks to foreign dignitaries.

That would be a solid life.

Sounds almost like Asahina Beniha

I'm a runner, so probably Hiruma runner on the wall delivering messages. I also tend to be pretty sarcastic, so maybe that could transfer into some kind of Yasuki courtier focusing on sadane kind of thing?

The Crab have their own type of 'incomprehensible gibberish'. It sounds like, "We are The Wall!", etc etc.

It hasn't been that long since the Crab were being squeezed so tightly out of the empire, left so poor and under-supplied, that Kisada saw only one alternative. Not too far from seeing if Nu5R repeats, either.

Come to think of it ...

Quote

Kisada turned his eyes to a nervous young retainer, who started and bowed as he saw the clan champion looking his way. “Yasuki Oguri. What of our missives to the Emperor? Have they not gotten through?”

Oguri shook his head, his words wary. “They have, Hida-ue. My father has confirmed they have been delivered, and he has sent the Emperor’s replies back. But each time it is the same. A formal letter, the finest calligraphy on the smoothest paper. ‘The Emperor regrets he cannot send any aid at this time.’ For supplies, for troops, for jade...” The young man looked down awkwardly, embarrassed. “It is always the same response.”

Yakamo growled, slamming his war club on the ground again. “A sham of courtesy!” he bellowed, seething. “I should go to Otosan Uchi myself and demand what we are owed as the protectors of Rokugan!”

Not too worried yet.:)

I'm already heavily covered in tattoos, love learning, and I've always liked rogues and stealthy classes...Togashi monk whose forte is scouting and information gathering.

But are you bald?:)

I would be an Air Shugenja in the Isawa family. I would probably become an inquisitor. After years of studying, I would learn the error of the way maho was treated and viewed. I would then try and become the most powerful Maho Tsukai possible and show the great clans the folly of their nearsightedness.

And you'd probably get taken out by a courtier who slaps you to death with his fan.:P

On it.

Except for "fan," see, "borrowed tetsubo."

You know, that sounds an awful lot like a Shadow Branded Shosuro Spy... :) They like to learn stuff too.

He best hope that first blow knocks me out. Because if he only busts my lip it would on like donkey kong!

Knowing my luck, I would be an ogre in the Shadowlands .
