Fat Han

By LUKEOUT, in X-Wing Squad Lists

I was wondering if a Fat Han list would still be viable for a tournament list. In my attempt to put a Fat Han together with what I have this is what I've come up with:

Han Solo (46)
Push the Limit (3)
Chewbacca (4)
Luke Skywalker (7)
Engine Upgrade (4)
Millennium Falcon (1)

I've also had a hard time thinking of a good wingman for him. I was thinking of this Keyan build as I have lots of experience with B-Wings (and I just love them for some crazy reason), but I worry he wouldn't last long.

Keyan Farlander (29)
Push the Limit (3)
Jan Ors (2)
B-Wing/E2 (1)

Thanks for the help!

Kylo and bombing lists will be troublesome matchups for your Fat Han. With an initiative bid you should be able to avoid alpha strikes pretty well. Fat Han is still the same threat he always was to most lists. I think Rey pushed Fat Han out of style. Your Han is probably a little too fat; you're really limiting your options for a wingman. I love Farlander, but when I'm taking a 2-ship list I leave the B-wing in the hangar. Jake is probably the best choice in the <35 point category. Otherwise, trim points off Han to take a better 2nd ship.

Thanks for the feedback.

I've seen Poe mentioned as a good wingman for Han. Taking your advice and playing around I've come up with something like this:

Han Solo (46)
Determination (1)
Chewbacca (4)
Luke Skywalker (7)

Poe Dameron (31)
Push the Limit (3)
R2-D2 (4)
Weapons Guidance (2)
Integrated Astromech (0)
Black One (1)

Total: 99

The only card I don't have that I'd have to purchase separately is the Black One title, so that could go if needed.

Before you concern yourself with cards you don't own, consider the consequences of using Weapons Guidance on Poe. In your list, Poe gets 1 Focus token per round. If he spends it on his attack, then his ability is useless for defense later.

Moving on to cards you may or may not have: Autothrusters will negate more damage than Integrated Astromech. If you have it, use it. It conveniently costs the same number of points as Weapons Guidance, and it doesn't compete for Poe's token.

Ah, I see the interaction now. You'd get more use out of Poe having a focus token.

I don't have autothrusters, but I do see them in many lists. Would be a good card to have.

Thanks again, your advice has been really helpful.

I bougt a couple coppies of Twin Ion Mk2 and FFG gave me a free TIE Punisher. It's in my box of shame.

Lol, yeah that's what I ended up doing. The prices on eBay for the cards were about half of what the whole expansion was.

I also picked up Heroes of the Resistance as it gives a ton of options to play with.

Heroes of the Resistance is a great expansion
