Excel card spreadsheet and deckbuilder

L5R Card Spreadsheet

Version: 0.4.1

Requirements:

- Microsoft Excel with macros enabled Features:

- Lists all card names, card numbers, power level, costs, influence, card types, image URLs, card text, and more for all card revealed as of 8/09/17

- Gives option to create popups of images accessible by hovering the mouse over the card name. To activate this feature click the "Show Images in Popup" button on the All Cards Revealed tab. This will grab the images from the internet and will take several minutes to perform.

- Dynasty, Conflict, and Province/Stronghold deck building with deck validity checking. This is done on the deck builder tabs by selecting the card name for the desired card from the card name column drop down menu.

Looks great but I don't see any images popping up.

Are you planning to keep this updated? The Reddit list stopped updating after Crane was spoiled. I appreciate the archiving of knowledge - very useful!

I do plan on keeping it updated.

For the issue you are seeing, are you using excel with macros enabled?

I was using it in browser, at work - so it may be a limited version. I'll try it again at home.

I don't get images either

I am working addressing the issues. I will put out a new spreadsheet after the Crab card reveals. Due to issues between how Excel and Google Sheets handles images, I am looking at dropping the image pop up feature for now. It may get added in future updates.

Works for me, just had to save the file locally (and whitelist macros for this sheet).

Thanks for making (and sharing) this !

I don't want to cast a shadow on your work but isn't that useless since we have fiveringsdb.com ?

They don't have deck building and validation built-in. I also don't like their user interface. Excel spreadsheet to me is simpler. That is the beauty of the individual. By all means if you prefer fiverings.com. then use them. This is mearly providing options. The individual will choose what works best for them.

If you see any way I can improve the spreadsheet, I will gladly hear them, and see what I can do to implement them.

Guaranteed, cardgamedb will have an L5R deck builder like they do for FFG's other games. Not to disrespect the fine work you folks are doing here, that is.

I am not offended at all. People can do what they want. If they come up with a deck builder and people want to use it over mine or someone elses, that is cool. I personally prefer mine, and am open to making it better. I post it here to provide options for people, and get feedback to make it better.

Come to think of it, it would probably be a good idea to make a topic with all of the resources available for people to see card spoils, deck building, etc. Then we can let people choose what they feel is best for them, and provide feedback for the resource developers.

Updated the spreadsheet on the first post of this topic for the unicorn card spoils. I will be updating the spreadsheet and posting it rapid fire as the scorpion cards as revealed, instead of waiting for the full scorpion reveal as I have been with the other clans. This is to help people going to GenCon prepare for the tournaments. The total core set spreadsheet will be published during GenCon when I get my hands on the full core set box.

After that release I will be adding new functionality to the spreadsheet, and updating based upon dynasty pack releases. Here are the analytics features I am looking to include in the spreadsheet:

1. Avg card cost in decks (Dynasty and Conflict seperately)

2. Avg military power in decks

3. Avg political power in decks

4. Avg glory count in decks

5. Chances of drawing card from deck

6. Chances of drawing card during initial card draws

7. Chances of drawing card during 3 turn game

8. Chances of drawing card during 4 turn game

9. Chances of drawing card during 5 turn game

10. Cards in deck feeding X theme directly

What are y'all's thoughts on these analytics? What other features would y'all like to see?

Updated spreadsheet in first post to included Scorpion card Ambush that was spoiled today.
