How long until we have a new FAQ?

They could have dropped the Deadeye FAQ right after Worlds and the other nerf bombs after all System Opens were done (5/8 had already passed). It would have been more fair to everyone involved, IMO at least.

However, between these 2 things, Dialgate and still not having floor rules, I guess tournament integrity and not accidentally screwing random guys over doesn't rank very high on FFG's list of priorities.

I think most of the community was very happy to see the nerf, despite the timing. I think a Worlds without one would have been more problematic for the game. You may not be aware but they also aren't in full control (OP) of the timing of the release of these things, and from what I know they actually had it ready to go much earlier.

I know they need LFL approval. However I doubt LFL approval, once granted pressures them into releasing immediately. They could (and IMO should) have waited.

Regardless if most of the community was happy with the nerf or not, do you consider their attitude was fair toward people who put tens of hours into practicing Torp Boat lists, spent pretty significant amounts of $ on travel and accommodation for worlds, only to be told by FFG 'Tough luck guys. Find another list in 2 weeks'?

They literally just found a different EPT and carried right on running torp boats without a moment's hesitation so... I'd consider it fair, personally. Dunno about AlexW though.

The oy guy running triple boats at worlds with good success was Marcel Manzano, and even hi acknolwedged in interviews it's a very different list from Deadeye boats.

Justin Phua said after winning last worlds he practiced about 100 games with his list and variations.

Do you think somebody who put say also 100 games into Deadeye boats can get just as good with Attani boats in under 2 weeks?

I don't consider it "fair" to that group, but in this case I think it was very good for the game.

Deadeye torp boats didn't need practice - it was too easy.

Destiny just got a rules update / errata / faq today that killed a couple combos. Seems like a good sign, alongside the Armada FAQ from a few weeks ago, that an X-Wing FAQ should be coming soon.

Yep, FFG also didn't learn their lesson from that cancer of a list and is about to release another PS3 ship that can take Deadeye and can conveniently fit 3 in a list with 5 Homing Missiles that each have about 74% chance of getting max hits and one is guaranteed a Crit.

You can also drop to cruise missiles and get 6 missiles with points to spare for other upgrades. With the potential to throw 5 dice instead of 4

The only thing missing from the list is unlimited bombs because that's always enjoyable.

Triple Scurrg is going to be way less dominating than Triple Jumps was. The difference is in the endgame.

I don't think it will be as dominate. But more so because the meta will be fascinated with other ways to build the ship. Kinda like how people didn't see Mindlinked Scouts because of Deadeye and Dengaroo taking up their attention.

3 ship highly accurate 4 dice red dice power creep missile spam AGAIN for months makes me want to stop buying any more Xwing. Already basically down to 1 faction, the current least broken: Imperials. Just got 2 tie Aggs.

And jumps are still an issue. Wow.

Really, they should just remove EPT from Scout and Manaroo, and increase base cost by 3 points for Scout and Manaroo.

Its doubtful Tel and Dengar need it. For their upwards motion in cost, they kind of need the punishing one for damage anyway. Perhaps. Yeah. Add 2 or 3 to Dengar and Tel also, -3 to punishing one title.

My wishlist:

Lats changed to Once per Round

Ventress changed to the same restriction of the Upsilon title. (Max of 1 stress)

Mindlink changed to a Focus Action

Dengar changed to Once you have Damage Cards

Biggs changed to something similar to Selflessness and Draw Their Fire mechanics

Kylo changed to something that's enjoyable to play against. Like it doesn't work under shields.

Change timing chart back so Kanan/Biggs can go back to Tier 2 and Valen Rudor won't suck as much.

Edit: Oh and Sabine and Cad Bane get range restrictions.

What aspect of the timing chart do you mean?

Perfect Balance - no damage can be done to any ships.

When a ship would be given a damage card, you may discard it. Now everything is balance, would make the naysayers happy.

Fixed that for ya.

Perfect balance on the forums would be a game where the skill to avoid Missed Opportunities decides the victor, obviously.

I don't got it in front of me right now, but when they instituted it, it meant things such as TLT's are considered 1 attack and not 2 like before. Meaning Kanan would only get 1 TLT shot at the end instead of both.

The list will still be playable and it was eplayed before, but not this negative experience for the opponent. It's beatable now and certainly not the best list out there, but much like Kylo. It can create an environment where the opponent isn't enjoying themselves.

Ah, that bit. Of course, if you change it back, you start allowing things like FCS triggering after each TLT shot (Scurrg with TLT+FCS, anyone?) or double-stressing with TLT + Tactician (remember that one K-Wing list from a year or two ago?)

The cruise missile version has 4 points after the required upgrades. You can still have bomblet

True, its keeping things out.

Maybe a subtle change to that list. It just can be a horrible experience for some, much like Kylo. Not unbeatable by any means. Just a horrible experience if you're not prepared for it.

I think that's really a problem with a lot of squads that have been strong over the last year or two - there are a ton of lists that are beatable if you are familiar with what it can do and know how to counter it . At very high levels of play, that's not so bad, but for newer or more casual players, it sucks to go into a tournament feeling confident in your squad you've built and practiced only to get blindsided by something you've never heard of before.

Couldn't have said it better myself!

They needed Disney's approval. Furthermore they sought to move the venue from their own in house game room to Disney's larger venue in conjunction with Disney's Star Wars exhibition which makes the most logical sense. So the timing was more of necessity than any one group making the call. However there is a question if the unnerfed Palp and x7 could have stood their ground better against the Jumpmasters and Protectorates of Scum. It seemed like the nerf calls made Scum even more dominant than bringing balance between the list archtypes let alone the factions.
