Nemesis class deck : Powerful foes question

By IanSolo_FFG, in Imperial Assault Rules Questions

Hi all,

I have a question pertaining the Powerful foes card of the Nemesis class deck. The question may very well come from the fact that English is not my main language. So I apologize in advance if the answer is straightforward.

The top part of the card says "You earn 1 Imperial and 1 Scum villain of your choice"

Opposite to an agenda card that will specifically says to use once and then discard, there is no such instruction on the Powerful foes card. So therefore, is it possible that the card intend is to let you select 1 Imperial and 1 Scum at the start of each mission? For example, you might want to bring BT-1 or Jabba on introduction mission since they are low-cost figures while during later missions (with higher threat level) you might want to bring in Vader or Boba Fett?

Or is it a one-time opportunity to earn 2 villains without requesting you to pay to buy their agenda missions? This is probably the correct answer but I just want to validate.

Thanks!

You choose which villain of imperial affiliation and which villain of mercenary affiliation you earn when you receive the card, i.e. at the start of the campaign.

Thank you a1bert!

I have been wondering on this question myself. Picking one of each for the whole campaign seems to be logical but I sometimes play with particular people who have a passion for precision ( I may or may not be one of them;)) Now, I don't want to be a pedant but the card doesn't say that explicitly and I have yet to find it in the rules or FAQ. Can you help me locate the clarification for that? Was there an email or something? Thanks!

No, you can't find it from the rules, but there is simply no space on the card to include "at the beginning of a campaign".

(If you could use the ability at any time, after the first mission you would have earned all villains. Note that it's earn and not gain , so you would be adding to your earned villains instead of choosing new ones.)

There was no email, but 'something'. ;)
