Dat lvl 5 shrivelling... <3

Yeah that +1 Damage and +1 Will over Shriveling 3 doesn't seem like it will come in handy that often. Plus it inflicts more horror. Plus it costs 2 xp to upgrade from l3.

I mean, its clearly better, but with so many options to spend xp on now, there seems to be a lot better options for those 2xp. Heck I would prefer a fearless 2 over this.

Ward of Protection 5 seems not that much better either. As far as I can tell, it just allows you to block enemies and negate Surge. Those both can be useful, but 5 xp is a lot.

Monster Slayer seems weak for its cost as well. I would rather just get a bigger gun for the 5 xp.

I like Dr Maleson though. He is the first Seeker ally that may replace Doc Chris. If I had a low resource need deck, he might be a good include. He may be a good soaker ally as well.

I like the other cards.

All of these level 5 cards help you save actions, and being able to save actions for tasks you need to do to forward your progress in a scenario is very strong. Do not underestimate the Mystic cards, especially in Agnes.

For monster slayer, I wish I had it earlier as it is especially helpful against spheres, as well as broods

Not Broods.

Thats a good use. But on the other hand, 5XP that is only useful in a handful of scenarios?

Why not? You damage it as appropriate and then defeat it with Monster Slayer. Monster Slayer neither damages nor attacks it.

Because Monster Slayer is an attack, so you cannot use it on Broods.

You are right.

So I go back to my original point, seems to only be better than another weapon in a few specific instances. Its only really good versus low Fight value, high HP enemies.

I don't care for it.

Ok fair point on Broods, but there are also lots of other enemies it is useful against, granted not the Really big ones and it is debatable if it is worth 5 xp but if I am the monster fighter in my group I will take it every time. Just for those monsters that would usually take 3 actions and/or 2 or 3 ammo to take down
