Good Ol' Ackbar and MC80

By Tiberius the Killer, in Star Wars: Armada Fleet Builds

So I have played a very similar list this evening. And it did all right against Sloane with Gladiator, Raider, Arq, and gozantis. I was able to send quantum in to slice some gozantis, but I lost all my squads, Jaina's light, and Leia's transport, but still ended up with a 7-4 victory.

I'm wondering what I can do to up my squadron game. I doesn't seem like it does a whole lot besides die, and 55 points sees expensive for a speed bump. But maybe not. Is there anything worth getting rid off? Anything that could be changed?

Also I need a better Defense objective, thoughts on that?

Thanks!

You are running the 55 point donation squadron setup, that is 100% what they are designed to do. They are insurance against bombers and squadron attacks in general.

Keeping alive is all based on how conservative you can be with them. Playing them defensively is the best threat. Never force them to jump into flak range unless you stand a really good chance of losing a ship if you dont tie up a squad near to a ship.

Try to spread aggro around so they can't focus them down.

All of that will stretch them out, and hopefully preserve some of the points while still accomplishing their mission.

Sloane burning defense tokens makes aces die must fast than I'd like. But yeah, I have been trying to tie enemy squads up instead of letting them come to me. That may be the problem.

I have thought about trying to fit in some 2400s or corran to make things more offensive but I don't know what I'd take out to fit them. And slicer tools has done pretty well to slow the squad game down.

Sloane is scary though. I was terrified to use my brace on my mc80.
