Aurra and tie pilots

By Tug-thug, in Star Wars: Destiny

Making a deck for a friend. He's a fan of Aurra Sing so going to use her. Chose to go with two tie pilots to pair her with.

The idea is to load up on ranged weapons and support so dice can't be removed easily. Event cards will mostly be cheap dice control, maybe a couple fun things thrown in like endless ranks.

Could this be a halfway decent fun pairing? Not necessarily looking for competitive, but at least serviceable.

I've had better success with a single tie pilot and something else. When you have the two tie pilots you're very heavily relying on aurra to bring the black damage sides in for the ties to use. She then ends up getting focused down then you're only left with a handful of blue sides and maybe an upgrade or two.

Swapping one with Bala has been doing great for me, all upgrades go to him (barring maybe some f-11ds on the tie) and fairly often he's triggering his ability on round two with all his gear. Guavian would go great as well by bringing even more black ranged sides for more consistent and steady damage.

You can still certainly do well going double ties and aurra really is just a fun character to play imo.

I'd consider Aurra/TIE Pilot/Nightsister. Two pilots are great for their removal protection, but I think blue offers a number of cheap upgrade dice that could help. Force Speed and Lure of Power are great in three character lists. They provide a lot of cheap options.

I like the idea of Bala! What about eAurra/eBala? I've been meaning to try that one out.

I haven't played that myself (only one Bala die) but I've read of others doing so and enjoying it. Main obstacle to deal with is the low health but eAurra can dump out huge and consistent damage.

Mono-yellow. Not that great for a shooty deck.

eSing and eDooku. Most fun I've ever had playing the game. Concentrate more on control and less on upgrades.

Yeah! That's why I think eAurra/eBala has a chance to do really well, since yellow villain gets a lot of good dice control (electroshock, one quarter portion, he doesn't like you, etc.)

Looks like I had a brain fart there... I was reading and typing Sing, but was thinking Ventress.

Sing and eDooku could be paired together, but that might be an awful lot of discarding. Now I have to try it... lol
