I am teething at the bit for that Tie Aggressor

By Blail Blerg, in X-Wing

Do we have a firm release date yet?

Really looking forward to 2x TLTing someone to death. =)

Also, Kestal, looks really fun.

Who has fun builds for the Agg?

July 13th!

Lwf tlt double edge with lone wolf?

Ketsal is weird. Gonna need hux or a ptlable dial to make her ability at all reliable

Seems better with missiles. 1 tlt damage is eh, FOUR missile damage on rau is yay

Edited by ficklegreendice

She also gives the big middle finger to Rey and Finn.

Personally, I think she's made for an Ion turret.

This way, she becomes a real ace hunter and in particular a beast in 1:1 late game. If the enemy ends up in range 1-2 of her, he's basically toast... Even Omega leader, since canceling dice is not a modification, as far as I know.

I've really come around on Double Edge I think. His cost for what he can fit in is pretty nice.

Kestals ability is awesome but I think you're definitely right she needs a bunch of support to get focus tokens

Focus to mod offense, focus to ability; focus to not die

Lotta focus

Fleet officer > Experimental interface, >Hux on a support Upsilon , plus focus for her own action XD.

Finn works like any other dice modification, and thus would happen after Kestal has had the opportunity to remove blanks and focus results. Still obnoxious to lose the blanks and focuses Rey might roll naturally.

clarification

Personnaly my first try will be 2 generic TLT with Oicunn:

Sienar Specialist — TIE Aggressor 17
Twin Laser Turret 6
Ship Total: 23
Sienar Specialist — TIE Aggressor 17
Twin Laser Turret 6
Ship Total: 23
Captain Oicunn — VT-49 Decimator 42
Predator 3
General Hux 5
Inspiring Recruit 1
Dauntless 2
Ship Total: 53

I might switch something on Oicunn to add 2 LWF on the Aggressors, not sure yet.

Another possibility (to give bomblets a try):

Sienar Specialist — TIE Aggressor 17
Twin Laser Turret 6
Lightweight Frame 2
Ship Total: 25
Sienar Specialist — TIE Aggressor 17
Twin Laser Turret 6
Lightweight Frame 2
Ship Total: 25
Boba Fett — Firespray-31 39
Expertise 4
Bomblet Generator 3
Navigator 3
Andrasta 0
Ship Total: 49

If the Aggressor has white 3-turns, TLT's are going to be returning in a big way.

I'm actually more excited for the upgrade cards it brings. Intensity and Unguided Rockets are both so good. Intensity on Jake, Poe, and the new Starvipers is amazing. Rockets on almost any TIE Bomber is very intriguing.

The Aggressor list I am going to try is : Aggressor TLT, Deathfire Rockets, Delta X7, Pure Sabaac. Aggressor 4-ship Imperials

Lol Thormind. that's basically my secret build too. Hux into TLT shots. Rofl. Strill trying to figure out what the best use of the rest is though. While Oicunn and the EPT are nice, i find even Focus + Predator typically cant hit Fenn Rau, though still good to Hux Oicunn anyway. Oicnn rarely gets a bump nowadays... So thats 2 points that tends to not pay off.

Recently tried Patrol Leader Gunner Vader Kallus. Worked quite well when flown defensively.

Take it you're not bothered about triggering his ability but taking him for the cheap access to EPT?

Myep

His ability is just a 2 die primary after missing both TLTs. Could be worth rremembering but not breaking your back over

Otherwise it is just too clunky and expensive to enable, or certainly seems that way

It's not.

But she's still got to beat his naked greens (plus Comm Relayed evade) with her naked reds, which is non-trivial, and she's still got to beat his modified reds with her naked and crack shotted greens.

Kestal basically needs Stridan coordinate back up.

Kestal VI TLT 31pts

QD Rage baffle title LWF 33pts

Stridan Baffle Title Inspiring recruit 36pt

Nuts good firepower, tanky. Utility.

Getting Fleet Officer in there would be better on Stridan. Kestal wants extra focus tokens, not just extra actions, if possible.

I though about Oicunn from the start for 1 reason. No ship wants to get too close to him. He would protect the range 1 doughnut of the TLT. Only thing i dont like is to have LWF on the aggressors, i need to sacrifice the EPT. Not sure its a good idea to fly them without it.

Another possibility would be:

Major Stridan — Upsilon-class Shuttle 32
Fire-Control System 2
General Hux 5
Inspiring Recruit 1
Pattern Analyzer 2
Targeting Synchronizer 3
Experimental Interface 3
Kylo Ren's Shuttle 2
Ship Total: 50
Sienar Specialist — TIE Aggressor 17
Twin Laser Turret 6
Lightweight Frame 2
Ship Total: 25
Sienar Specialist — TIE Aggressor 17
Twin Laser Turret 6
Lightweight Frame 2
Ship Total: 25
OR
Kylo Ren — Upsilon-class Shuttle 34
Push the Limit 3
Fire-Control System 2
General Hux 5
Inspiring Recruit 1
Engine Upgrade 4
Ship Total: 49
Sienar Specialist — TIE Aggressor 17
Twin Laser Turret 6
Lightweight Frame 2
Ship Total: 25
Sienar Specialist — TIE Aggressor 17
Twin Laser Turret 6
Lightweight Frame 2
Ship Total: 25

Stridan would be a better support but wouldnt be able to turn around that much after the initial attack. Kylo is a bit less support but with PTL and boost he would be a bit more offensive. One problem with both the Decimator and the Shuttle is the limited amount of green available to clear Hux stress. I think my favorite built is the one with Boba because of this.

I'm leaning on the side that it's a dud. Intensity might be the best thing in the pack and I don't even think Intensity is that good. I'll buy one just to have Kestal in my locker, but I don't see him being that good.

You're not sold on INtensity?

I don't think it's that good in many places, but the places it is good, it'll be very good:

BB8 Poe

Snap

Vader

Defenders

Jake

Maybe /sfs with Comm Relay

Basically anyone who can expect routinely to use it to get multiple tokens in the same round, and who stands a good chance of keeping at least one of them, and particularly, who likes repositioning.

Plus, a bunch of Scum pilots if Mindlink is nerfed, especially Guri and Tbane.

It's the 'regularly expect to have a spare token at the end' that I think is the catch. Like you said I can see it being a great fit on a few niche builds but I also think the live combat experience of Intensity when the enemy puts you under pressure will be below what people are expecting. Press the ship and they lose the token, can't flip Intensity, then are more vulnerable the turn after - people are used to seeing a tokened up ship and leaving it alone, but with Intensity you just push it as hard as you can and it breaks the next turn.

It's not an upgrade I expect to need more than 1 copy of, I think,

I suspect it more finds its utility in getting people evade tokens who don't have the evade action in a lot of cases.

But I'd agree that it's pretty niche.

I think intensity Poe will be making a resurgence. Remember when Mindlink came out and people thought it wasn't that good because of the stress mechanic, don't write it off just yet.

As Space has said, there are a lot of pilots this upgrade suits.

Thing is, she only needs to do it once with the ion and then shes in a good spot. Also, to keep her cheap and reliably ioning, she might have crack shot herself...

Intensity is the only thing I am excited for I thus pack, I don't like the ship.
