[MAFIA] Game 6: Fate of the Jedi - Completed

By Onidsen, in Star Wars: Armada Off-Topic

I will repeat this now you all know I am not lying.

When someone gets to L-2, regardless of the game you should ask for a claim. If they are town then the claim is so that should they have a powerful role they get the opportunity to live through the night. So either you end up lynching a vanilla townie or you create a situation where mafia have to second guess whether they go after the power role or not. Either way its an improvement upon lynching blind.

If they are scum they might fakeclaim a powerrole. Nothing wrong with this, however, how long can someone keep up the pretense of a power role they dont have, and why did they not die at night? The claim still means you have legitimate evidence to catch them in a watertight error.

A townie fakeclaiming a role is one of the most dangerous plays for town there is. Why would a townie fake claim cop in a game where there is likely a doc? All it does is control the docs protection and reduce the targets for scum. Think very carefully before doing it.

Oh, and signups open to the next game

You don't know how hard I found it, signing the order to terminate your lives.

You're a droid, it's not like you have feelings.

Feelings! Hell no. You all deserved a traitor's death.

I mean how actually hard it was to sign the order.

Look at my hands:

Either way its an improvement upon lynching blind. I fully understand this.

If they are scum they might fakeclaim a powerrole. Nothing wrong with this, however, how long can someone keep up the pretense of a power role they dont have, and why did they not die at night? because the same reason a true townie claim would survive. claim still means you have legitimate evidence to catch them in a watertight error.

A townie fakeclaiming a role is one of the most dangerous plays for town there is. Why would a townie fake claim cop in a game where there is likely a doc? All it does is control the docs protection The same thing any other claim (scum fake claim or true townie claim) would do and reduce the targets for scum. Think very carefully before doing it. agree.

I was not sure about how to proceed being vanilla but I ended thinking I was just a pawn so I resolve to claim something to draw the attention of scum if needed. Of course I could play a double bluff claiming vanilla.

I wondered about an open claim or a subtle one. Because the setup I think an open claim wouldn't help too much. Everyone could do it at day1 so I think a subtle one would look as I really had something to hide. What could happen? A real doc, a real cop and scum all working on me. Not so bad. I think Biggs read my claim and tried to play exactly what I was playing at the same time he was proving his point against you.

Was it good? Not sure but we stopped the jailkeeper from blocking better targets. It was useless just cause we didn't have a cop but if Visovics would have been a cop for example he would have had a clear way to investigate. At the end the problem was the setup I think.

Also, as soon as you say scum are interested in claiming a power role you create a situation where claiming vanilla could be useful. Then there is nothing to proof. Of course they risk to get "lynch him anyway, not a big deal" as response but they could look fine too. Look how CNinja escaped from my poor radar just because he voted Biggs at d1. I could imagine Caldias there but every single scum there? CNinja can say if that was a mistake or a risky move. It works well anyway.

Did you?

Edit: Basically Ovi, look at what actually happened rather than the what ifs. You achieved nothing but confusing town with your "claim"(?). It was not beneficial to town.

Thats it, end off.

The only thing I want to know:

@Madaghmire WHY THE HELL DID YOU NOT USE THE KILL AFTER YOU CLAIMED O.o

As I said it meant anything cause we had not a cop but I didn't know that. We get a jailkeeper that blocked vanillas. It was not enough of course.

You could avoid "ifs" too. If I would have not fake claim we could end as bad as we do. I just shared my reasons.

It is not like you survived d1. :P

It seems he was not sure about his choice.

I was lynched because people had doubts. Doubts born from my unwillingness to tear Caldias to shreds as I should have. We have past on this forum and I wasnt sure he would have understood why.

I am comfortable that I was lynched for that.
