But with Vader I can't have JJ. And taking Vader for rerolls on 2 Vics is not a great incentive, when I can have LS for 8 points and QBT for 10. Before QBT I'd suck it up and take SA on both and throw a bunch of reds.
I get Vader can be good, but I always look at the cheaper ways to reroll dice and find they are a more cost effective option. Vader really works best on Arqs, and I don't like Arqs. I'm not very good with them. Maybe cuz I never take Vader
Taking OE or LS gives me the effect of Vader but I still get another commander. Most of the time it's actually cheaper too.
Vader also does well with Raiders. Vader lets you re-roll the blues for accuracies and the combination of OE and Vader let's you go fishing for hit/crits. However, Vader shines the most with the new ISD I/ Avenger/ Boarding Troopers combo. You can't take the Ordnance Experts most usually take with the ISD I and leading shots doesn't work out the sides. Enter Vader who will re-roll everything involved in that beautiful double arc shot.

I actually like the quads with an ISD for the leading shots out the side. The grand inquisitor sorta makes that feasible.
