For those that are planning to go to FFG Worlds May 2018, July and August are now “Be Careful Months”.

July 28, 2017 is 40 weeks away from May the 4^th, 2018.

The average length of human gestation is 40 weeks.

However, only about four per cent births are 40 weeks later.

Without any prior proper planning, what are the odds that you might have a higher priority to the maternity ward than being at FFG during Worlds?

Some would say “3720 to 1”.

Others might quickly answer, “200%”.

Whatever you calculate, your plan for being there starts long before May the 4^th.

(There might be annual events that have higher priority as well, like if you get married on May the 4^th, your anniversary will prevent you from going to Worlds every year.)

Technically, in relation to the relations you're referring to, every month should be a "be careful" month.

My wife's been trying to convince me to agree to #4. While I'm pro-having a home grown adventuring party, I'm not sure my budget can finance another kid's Star Wars habit.

To be fair, Yoda knew something that Luke didn't.

To be fair, Jar Jar Binks knew stuff Luke didn't, never mind Yoda. The kid was a bit of a dweeb for the first half of the trilogy.

Don't get your wife/girlfriend pregnant in July or August because the baby will be due in May, complicating your schedule to the point that you will miss Worlds.

My old man used to tell me "always be careful where you put your ***** and your signature".

Now a father of two myself and with a house mortgage, I grew old enough to realise the wisdom in his words.

To answer Dee’s question, I have not missed an Xwing event because of the ‘40 weeks’ time frame.

It happened to one of the Armada players for the November 2016 Worlds.

However, this is the first time I was able to issue the PSA. This is the first time we are 9 months before Worlds. (November 2016 Worlds and May 2017 Worlds are 6 months apart).

Like Dallas said (MPE76 @ 2:15:50) “we have not had a real end to a season so far.”

I missed out on store championships last year since my son was due in early to mid February.

Because of missing out as well as having them moved to summer now, means it will be 2 and a half years since my last SC when I go to one in a couple weeks.
