Just wondering if FFG is going to produce an official online version of L5R? Some of my friends that I used to play against have moved to the other side of the world and while we could use skype, I was just wondering if there were easier ways to do it?
Official online version of L5R?
I wouldn't think so. I am waiting for a version to show up on OCTGN, as I prefer using that for online card games. However, I'm sure there will be a broswser version put together but someone, similar to what exists for Netrunner and A Game of Thrones. Also, looks like quite a few people are already enjoying using Tabletop Simulator to try out the game.

If you aren't already, you should probably follow this thread.

FFG pretty much never does official online implementations of their games. There are a number of people working on OCTGN plugins, TableTop Simulator mods, and a Jinteki.net type client for L5R though.
In FFG's mind, an online implementation doesn't make you buy cards. They want you to buy cards. Buy the cards and support the game.

That actually isn't true, but it is true of their LCGs. See above. I have an online version of Elder Sign, and I want to say a few more games got treatments. However, that is just to play with yourself and not others.
However, Danwarr covers the basic engines you'll see. Only TTS is 'up and running' at the moment since it doesn't require extra programming.

You might change 'play with yourself' to 'play solo' or something. You know to avoid....confusion.![]()

Isn't 'playing solo' a euphemism?
