Is Akbar compatible with bombers? I've been trying and failing to get a good MC80 + bomber list to work so this is my new attempt with AF2's instead. What do you think? Should I give up on bombers and just use a Biggs ball instead? Or just use tycho and shara and some Awings?

Ackbar doesn't synergize well with bombers, not for any active reason, but because he'd much rather use more ships and just lave a light(er) fighter screen. His personal expense and the expense of the ships he likes doesn't help him either.

For this list, it really does feel like it's trying to do two things at once, and that's punishing it. Your bombers don't really have the punch to fight their way to the target, even with Flight Controllers, and you have no way to shield the HWK. I'd either go for a pure Rebel bomber ball, commanded by Dodonna and using a Pelta Command instead of an Assault Frigate, or switch to Biggs, Jan, and a pair of X-wings, with one AF2 equipped with EHB and both with Gunnery Team. If you're going that route, I would then either drop BCC for Comms Net or try to squeeze in a second TRCR90 over both of the flotillas. Best of luck with the tournament.
