I... think they're just fine. And I'm glad to see them putting out some fairly universally used tokens. (I like the less used ones, too, though!). The alt art cards for Q3 are great choices too.

The new seasonal kit has some oval focus tokens which don't look too great.

They look like moldy/overripe potatoes to me. I'm hoping the name will catch on.

As a non-tournament goer, even though I've been playing the game since wave 1, I still don't have any acrylic tokens, so I'll take 'em if you don't want them!

I kinda like them, the different shapes make it easy to distinguish them from a distance

Plus, the evades are pretty cool when you see them in the flesh, so to speak. Much better than on the photo.

Having seen them in person, I disagree but to each his/her own

If you don't like em' don't use em'. Simple as that. I'm sure you could find someone to trade that has extra tokens of a different type from a different kit.

Or you could just buy third party acrylics. That way you can choose what they look like instead of whining.

I think OP (Wade IIRC?) has been knocking stuff out of the park with some of the prize support recently -- especially the full bleed alt art and astromech templates. Store Kit stuff less impressive, but I guess they save the good stuff for the premier events like system opens :-)

And then fire the higher up idiot who doesn't make the tokens available at the end of the season for purchase

How many people on here complaining are store owners who will have to purchase the kit? I would wager very few.

Most of those complaining are players who will rock up on the day, happily take their free tokens if they place high enough; and either use them or flog them off. So I fail to see their problem...

But then I remember I'm on the Internet and if people aren't watching porn or cat videos, they're complaining about something.

The stores I play at all have fees to enter tournaments, so the tokens still aren't free.

True; but who chooses whether to pay to an entry fee & play solely on the presence of possible tokens?

I don't choose whether to pay or not based on tokens, but I DO like it when the prize kits actually have stuff i want (I want the cards at least), and I strongly dislike the new evade and focus tokens.

And there is nothing wrong with disliking that. I never said otherwise. What I was commenting on was the amount of angst & griping they seem to have generated.
