I don't understand the point of an alt art pilot card that doesn't show the pilot. I already have, like, 12 pilot cards with pictures of a TIE/fo on them. The alt art card should be giving me something new.

One upside to the rectangular evades and the oval focus is that you can tell by touch which token you're grabbing. As someone who has both tokens in a little container while playing, that distinction has some merit.

The OL card is nice, but I like the alt-art cards that are of the pilots themselves. Even if it were a person in a generic FO TIE pilot helmet.

So I'm meh over it.

I think its just a planet in the background. Shields in star wars aren't a visible 'bubble' like in star trek. They hug the surface of the ship and are barely visible even when hit.

EDIT: now that I look closer you might be right. I'll be curious to see a higher rez version of the card art.

Red Ace alt art was rather poor, which is another in a number of pilot alt art cards ( like Dash, Hera, etc) that art viewed as poor. By makin Omega Leader's alt art ship based, FFG avoids a recurring problem.

Ah fair point. I like the Hera, Ketsu, Corran, Boba fett ones. And a whole bunch of others. Red Ace does look....weird
