July 8th Tournament at FFGC (Roseville Mn)

By tgall, in Runewars Miniatures Game

Hi All,

Thought I'd let everyone know that we'll be having another tournament at Fantasy Flight Game Center in Roseville Minnesota on July 8th.

This will be July 8th. Registration starts approx 10:15am and first round will start approx 11am.

It's 200 points, proxies are ok, just make sure it's well labeled etc so your opponent can figure it out too.

We will play a minimum of 3 rounds, adjusted up depending on number of players. 90 minute rounds.

For each round, the TO will draw 3 deployment and 3 objective cards that all tables will be using for that round. Player 1/2 will of course then decide between the options at their individual tables. Terrain will be determined locally at each individual table as well.

Hope you see you there!

How are you ruling that upgrades are purchased for units that do not belong to your faction?

Cool, I will try and come.

if only i was in a feasible distance from MN....sadly im in NE

@tgall So how big of a crowd are you guys getting at the FFG Event Center? Is there a weekly get together of guys to play the game as well? I live in the area and I'm looking to finally participate in the 'scene' :)

@Drakoniss That really depends on the card. Do you have an example? There are some combos that just don't mix which probably isn't telling you something you don't already know.

@Glucose98 So far for organized play, we've had a launch day, a release day and a 3 round tournament, numbers were about ~10-12 for each event. I can't speak to the regular weekday crowd (on FB join Twin Cities Wars Of The North) as others coordinate regular play during the week.

Hope to see you there!

Does the Spearman unit in a Waiqar army take Daqan or Waiqar upgrades? Or I guess there's a third option if they get no upgrades at all . I hope the designers Rule that they get no upgrade at all .

Or perhaps just Neutral upgrades...

Excellent point

My reading on this one is that for a unit from "another faction" pulled in via Maro, the upgrades for that unit would include neutral and Waiqar. I'm betting we see this in the initial FAQ.

Take a spearman unit selection, I just don't see for the heavy slot a Golem as being a choice, while a Carrion Lancer, that makes sense to me.

ok thanks so much!

Hello, I was at the last one (blonde kid) and unfortunately will be out of town for this one. However, I wanted to voice my appreciation of you advertising this on the forms as someone who doesn't use Facebook.

I can't wait for the next one!

Have. Sept 23 tourny and I will be there!

So how are you doing tournament scoring and pairings for these tourneys? Is it wins/losses with overall MoV as a tiebreaker, or will there be a certain tournament point bracket to follow like there is in Armada?

Until we get something official, what I put together for Cryodex is a win is worth 1 pt, loss 0, and then it tracks MoV as the tie breaker.

Not aware of Cryodex? https://github.com/Killerardvark/CryodexSource
