Unspeakable Oath

By StormyWaters, in Arkham Horror: The Card Game

I'm interested in the patron cards, Charles Ross' ability to pay for other investigators items seems like a great way to act as more of a support class for the cash strapped investigators. Daisy or Rex with Dr. Milan can end up with quite a lot of surplus resources, seems like a nice boost to your Roland or Agnes players.

I think they got his name wrong. I think it's meant to be Charles Kane (aka Charlie Kane). :B

That's definitely not the same guy as on the Charisma card. And Kane's a politician; this guy is in "Acquisition and Solicitation"

It was a joke. Charlie Kane's sole function (or at least primary use) in most of the other Arkham Files games is helping other players acquire assets. This guy lets you and your friend's spend less resources to do the same.

I wasn't sure, for that reason.

Charlie is one of the investigators in the other AH games, if I'm not mistaken.

I mean in Eldritch Horror it is but definitely not in most.

In Arkham Horror its access to allies that are removed from the game and keeping terror level down.

In Elder Sign its about him gaining resources when other investigators are around.

In Arkham Horror the Card game, he is not an investigator, but is pictured on Charisma, which seems to imply a more ally based idea of him.

He is pretty much all over the place really in abilities. I will say both EH and AH powers are both very thematic for him.

I know he is popular in EH since he is over powered (kind of like Mandy in AH), but that's not the only game he is in.

I agree. I think Charlie will be a Rogue and be focused around allies.

The end of the article says that it will be released in Q3, which is a surprise to me. I'd expected it to be Q4 (October).

Fair enough. I don't play Elder Sign. And it's been a while since I used Charlie in Arkham Horror. It was a bad joke.

But he does feel a lot like the eldritch horror version of charlie kane if he was an ally card.

I thought it was a good joke.

This is a good catch. Are they looking at having DoC and two Mythos out in August? That's half the scenerios.

Those are both good catches. It's realy neat to see how much of the characters, not just investigators, keep their personalities across franchises.

Third-quarter? Time and Space realeased the first week of third-quarter. If Oath comes out before October, I'd have to assume that Carcosa & Echos would come out before it. That would imply an average of 4 weeks, at the most, between expansions which would put Carcosa out last week of July!

No! We must not allow our hopes to get that high. I expect Carcosa to early release at GenCon and full realese 1-2 weeks later, and I will not permit my internal optimist to get a word in edgewise. Quiet, you!
