Happy Friday good friends of the Forum.
This weekends question is........ Best Armada War Story and Go.
Happy Friday
My best victory is one-shotting BiggsIRL's two MC80s with Devastator in a vassal tournament game, which sadly I didn't manage to get a log of.
My best Armada moment was a game where I managed by chance to end up perfectly interlocking with an enemy ISD, with both ships separated by millimeters at the bases and along the nose.
Happy Friday!
Mine so far was having a Raider I fly, at speed 4, directly in between a pair of VSDIs, activate before either got a chance to go, and absolutely unload front-to-side for 6 damage, with am accuracy, stripping most of the VSD's shields, before it jetted off to safety , where it spent the rest of the game harassing a flotilla.
May the minstrels sing your praises on this last wave 5 Friday ever.
Anyway Sabre squadron sniped with Howlrunner and flight controllers nearby. Rolled 2 acc + 4 hits. Bye bye Jan!
Back in the early-days of the game, my rebel fleet had been decimated, I only had a CR90 on one hull left. My opponent had two full health VSDs left. Trying to chase me down, my opponent flew both his VSDs off the board.
Happy Friday! I'm looking forward to playing at another SC tomorrow.
Best Armada war story? 2016 SC's, I was in contention for top 4, playing game 3 vs the current leader. I picked Advanced Gunnery and we had real similar Imperial fleets. Coming down to the end, my VSD carrier gimped away with 1 hull left and I took a super close 6-5 victory with it. Ended up in 2nd place, and the guy in third lept over both of us for 1st. The guy I beat came in 3rd or 4th (my mind is a bit foggy on that part).
The kicker to the story... I selected the mission, and we set up. I ran to the bathroom before we started, and it turns out my opponent was trash talking. How I was an idiot for taking AG and how easy the win was going to be. I didn't find this info out until I ran into the same crew a month+ down the road.
I still run into the guy when I travel to play. He's a good player, and I keep it social with him. I do hate playing him because the stakes always feel like it's another notch higher.
Happy Friday!
Turn 6 kill of Demolisher with Soontir Fel. Soontir had been on 1 hull since turn 3, but just wouldn't die!
My best Armada story:
I had a huge group of x-wing players who played at my house (8+ people) but I was starting to lose my enthusiasm for the game. I picked up Armada and really liked it. It scratched just the right itch.
I told these friends of mine, who had already sunk considerable money into x-wing, and they started playing Armada with me! Now we meet twice a month for Amrada and take up so much space that we play at the FLGS.
Good friends, good games.
Such a win!
Best Armada Warstory:
Worlds 2106 - Day 1A - Round 3 Top Table. Me vs (at the time) reigning World Champion Johnathan Reinig.
So began a game where flotilla murder and squadron fights were the name of the game. In the end, his setup was quite a bit better than mine, but I managed to stem the bleeding to keep it a 6-5 win for him.

So time travel is real! Also, great to see Armada still holding strong 89 years from now!
Not best, per se, but it was my first big Store Championship. I had won the first 2 rounds by a decent margin and it was on to the finals. My opponent needed to get 8 points in the MOV (whatever that thing is called) so I knew if I played carefully, I could win.
My list: 2 ISDs fully decked out with 2 Firesprays, a Jumpmaster and 2 Aggressors. Opponent: Mc80 Assault, 2 Mc30s, and Xwings.
We positioned diagonally across from one another and proceeded to plod toward the enemy. My opponent decided to weave through the asteroid field and I kept outside of it. Turn 4, we were finally in engagement range, but he had begun positioning to my broadside. I had first move for round 5, spent my navigate command to fly out of there as fast as I could, leaving the opponent in the dust.
All-in-all, 12 dice were rolled the entire game. We ended 5-5 and I took home the victory. Not the most exciting win, but imagining large ships looking out the window as we pass by each other, not really firing was pretty funny. My opponent was a good sport about it and we all got a good laugh.
Best story is a toss up between;
Winning a kit event by ramming five of my six ships into an MC80 with full shields, after having hit it with APTs three times (one of mine had one hull left, but I needed the room in the surround to ram him with another, so the sacrifice was required).
The game I faced the dreaded Rieekan Aces ball for the first time, which was near-instantly nullified by a Raider with Flechettes deactivating every single squadron in a single salvo on turn 2, and continuing to do so for the rest of the game by flying in circles around them, as they were gently whittled down. Wasn't bad for a squadron centered list vs a squadronless list...
Shredding a Victory with ACC+ 3x double at long range (obstructed spinal) then CF another double in, followed by the rhymer decimator ball in round 2 pretty high though. Hilariously good luck that one, it snowballed a bit. Love the decimator ball, not sure how viable it will be with nu-rhymer though.

And let me say that this was an excellent game. Very much a learning experience for me against a build I have never seen on a table before.
Played against @GiledPallaeon and had Ciena boosted by Howl and Flight Controllers. She rolled 1 damage twice, even with Swarm, against an E-Wing.
In the same game I killed a nearly 100% health Mon Karren with ISD I Avenger and a ram which surprised both of us. I also had a double arc on Madine's life boat and wasn't able to kill it, and I had Leading Shots.
There was a lot of min/max rolls that game.
1000 point game against @BrobaFett , when my double ISD hell comes down on 5 of his ships and Devastator takes out most of them in 2 turns while relentless has fun killing the rest
Mine was a game where we played superior positions. I ended up getting tabled, but my 4 YT-2400s had stacked up 17 objective tokens. I won the points game 540-400 but lost due to the whole "I was tabled" technicality.
The other was just this Monday when I had a Jaina's light with 2 hull left come to a complete stop on top of an asteroid because that was the safest place to be it sat in the front arcs of two different Ackbar AFmk2s for 2 turns, got rammed by one, and then lived. We couldn't stop laughing at the stupid little thing surviving.

Won my first game against a live opponent, retired undefeated.

Devastator: "This isn't even my FINAL FORM!"
