The best update we appear to be getting is the shipment was diverted. And I am pretty sure due to the intracacies of this being a disney property that is all they can tell us.
What would they even say? "We still don't know for sure when the books will be in stores. Stay tuned for more updates of this nature!"

Being a licensor of Disney has nothing to do with whether they can give updates.
FFG have just become really, really bad at communications. They have a stock 'we are announcing x' 'x is in development' 'x is on the boat' 'x is shipping' 'x is in stores' process because of the amount of products they release. When everything is going great, that's all you need. Unfortunately the RPG line, especially for people outside ConUS, has not gone great with multiple delays, books going out of print within days of release etc.

Having worked in PR their license often times includes limits on what they can say. So yes Disney can make telling us what going on legally untenable.

And having worked in publishing licensed works, including Disney, for 15+ years, i've never seen anything that says 'you can't mention that a product is delayed'. It would be ludicrous. This isn't the next Han Solo movie, it's a minor product in a flea speck license for them, which is mostly an offshoot of the x-wing license anyways.

Sure. But they often do say things that make license holders over cautious. Just like companies often don't talk for fear of a drop in stock price. I have seen companies do things the rest of the world would perceive as dumb because of how they over cautiously interpret their contract.

It's possible that the books contain some sort of spoiler of the Han solo movie or the last Jedi or even the fabled boba fette movie.
I am wondering if the delays in the books has something to do with the missing bothan info in the new German translation. It does seem strange that all this seems to have happened at a similar time.
1. Bothan info disappears.
2. 2 books on the boat 'dont' arrive in a port
3. 1 book in development halts all progress.
4. Ffg makes no move to update as to the delays or even the missing bothan info
5. The only word they are presenting is word of mouth from unconfirmed and unconfirmable sources as responses from customer servive to ppl who call and is usually a ' thanks for your interest we hope to have it soon.'
6. Another book in the same product line is announced and follows suit of no forward motion (spy) and product info page disappears
7. Another book in the same product line is announced and follows suit of no forward motion ( dawn of rebellion ) and product info page disappears.
It all stinks too much of Disney pointing and saying... !STOP!

No it really doesnt. As if these books were gonna be a problem they would not have been approved in the first place. FFG is not kept in the loop as far as the movies are concerned. You have to remember before the book goes to the printer it goes through and approval process pretty much every step of the way. So they would say no to stuff well before it was ever printed.
Use Occam's and Hanlon's Razor. The simpler solution is the most likely answer. Don't attribute malice to that which the incompetance can explain. The simpler solution is the shipping company owning the ship with the container went belly up. Incompetence explains that.

Policies can shift suddenly and drastically. Not saying your overall point is wrong, but this detail assumes a certain level of foresight and competence that isn't always in evidence with companies, big or small.

One of the main reasons they don't say much till a book is about to go to the printer. I also find it highly unlikely they will tell the to cancel a book after it is being shipped to the US. Companies would never want to work with a company like that. And Occam's razor still applies. A shipping company going belly up is the simpler more likely answer. It also does not involve Disney flushing profits. Which would be literally what telling FFG to flush Ghosts would be.

I am not saying you are wrong nor that I am right.
I'm also not saying that I believe it to be malice.
However the hypothesis or story ( I have yet to see concrete evidence i feel adequately supports it) that a shipping company went under only really covers points 2 and 3.
This leaves 5 points unexplained and effectively no word from any valid reputable source that I am aware of (No offence intended to those whom have presented ideas OR info they have received from ffg but word of mouth and the like is hearsay and thus not admissible as evidence)

- News reports of shipping companies going under
- Or any other valid proof.
All we truly have is a commonly accepted hypothesis being presented as... fact?...

We did tell you where those were. They are in trends and statistics thread in the edge forum. Where I forget which user sent an support email asking. The got a reply saying the shipment was diverted. They said they hoped no one was hurt and got a reply nothing so drastic. I am sure you could send a question to the edge support email and get a similar response like they did.
Last I heard was that the boat sank.
I got this from customer service when I emailed them:

The game store that I pre-ordered from told me that two shipping containers fell off the boat, it had also delayed an Arkham shipment as a result.
Whether or not that is true, it's what they told me.
At least they won a great amount of money with the insurance... even more than selling what the containers contained
