You did some math that shows that the odds of it happening to any one company is long odds. But the thing is if it was likely to happen to you you wouldn't do it. It happened once in how many years? You will also notice that FFG has admitted that something happened. And obviously they are reprinting the lot. Containers are lost of of ships all the time. Yes the odds are long that any one company will be the one struck.
The lost container is a lot more likely than any of the conspiracies I see about Disney telling them to pulp the whole print run. Or a number of other conspiracies.

That's the magical leap s/he's making. From "it's unlikely to happen to one particular company" to "it wouldn't have happened at all".
It's not math, it's feelings.
Hello people, can we please avoid categorizing what other people are saying in a derogatory way. From a logical argument point of view, I find Stan and daeglan more convincing but maybe they could be a tad less disparaging in their "tone" please??? We've got one of the best most welcoming most civil online communities I've ever seen but maybe we could all work a little harder about keeping it great or even making it even better/more friendly?
I'm adapting to the tone in which the other poster is addressing us.
Welcoming isn't the same as rolling over.
I meant for this thread to be a place where we could joke about the situation. I probably should have said "wrong answers only" in the OP.
Yes, this situation can try the patience. I'd rather make light of it than argue.

Wyld Stallyons rules?
What happened to the boat?
So bear in mind that the op of this thread was for outrageous theories and not as a realistic explanation of the true reason for the delays... as MP pointed out above.
Also seguleh's calculations were not for a particular company but a particular container... with that in mind the odds are against that one container falling off the boat. Sure it may have happened but it is still unlikely. Kinda like playing Russian roulette with a little under 20 000 revolvers. Sucks to be that one but 99,999 others are fine( I realize my numbers are off but I'm not going for precision here). Or the likelihood that your house will be hit by an asteroid tomorrow... let me know if it happens ok? Better stay out late tomorrow night just to be safe eh! (Yeah I'm canadian eh!)
And I didn't suggest that Disney order a complete scrap but rather a hold till a new movie or the like drops.
But to be honest all theories are both true and false till proven otherwise ( Schrödinger's cat) so as elias windrider suggested (in different words) let's be friends and respect others point of views... So on to happier topics... the MYSTIC BOOK!!!!!!! looks like lots of ppl are going to be happy with the imbue items and the alchemy stuff!
You know, I often wish you could like certain sections of a post as opposed to the whole post.
I often see sections I like but disagree with the rest so I don't 'like' the whole post... kwIm?
I know, I know, this post doesn't belong here and sorry for derailing again... So here's another theory
A Malachi duelist known as count dooku and a dark lord of the Sith known as darth Vader captured it thinking it had secret info for a lost jedi enclave and they are planning to rewrite it and return it with a tracking chip to locate any sympathizers or force sensitive.
My god, it's shipping now with a release date of the 12th!
2018?
2019!!!!

When I was young, my grandfather used to tell me stories of the old times; Where people ventured willingly into the unknown in search of untold fortune and knowledge. But, then the great drought came. Thousands died, many more abandoned us for other worlds certain that our society was doomed to collapse into nothing.
As for me?
I decided to do something about it. It has been so long since the drought began, our hope grows dimmer with each passing day. In these troubled times, I have decided to follow my ancestors into the unknown. Not for glory, not for power, not even for my own sake. No, I go in search of an answer. An answer we've been waiting over five hundred years for: Where are The Ghosts of Dathomir?
Upcoming says shipping US release date: 10/12/2017.
Edited by EoenSHIPPING!!! Yay! Now hopefully my FLGS brings one in for me.... I told them to back when it was announced but I bet they forgot.

363 days after announcement. So very close to exactly 1 year.

There was, a number of years ago, a container of rubber ducks on it's way from the orient to the states fell overboard and then broke open. Oceanologists were using the ducks to track water currents and ocean flows for a while.
EDIT - My bad, actually the 20,000 rubber ducks are out there and providing useful data ! Imagine that!

Too bad they weren't penguins.
Well, they cant ALL be perfect. . . .
I think when Han dumped his spice he accidentally dumped the books too.
All this theory makes me wonder... Will there be anything about Bothans on the Ghosts of Dathomir? And will those be the Bothan Ghosts of Age Of Rebellion in German?
;-)
