Speculation: Faction/Color Specific Battlefields

By Duciris, in Star Wars: Destiny

Like the title says, I'm interested to see if there is any speculation of eventually seeing Battlefields that can only be played by one faction or color.

I was reading the Rules Reference and noticed (for the first time (I think)) that each card has its color spelled out on the bottom. Presumably this is for the color-blind and I am all for any game that takes that into account. However, I then preceded to notice that it is not printed on Battlefields, but that "NEUTRAL" is. Color could easily be added latter, but I can't help but anticipate faction-specific to happen first.

Thoughts? Other similarly lined trains of thought?

Yeah, I noticed the neutral on the battlefields as well! That would be cool.

I know a lot of people would like to see some stuff go the other way, specifically neutral characters.

The only problem is that there's already been a lot of missed opportunities for this, and they might not want to start now. For example, Echo Base is a pretty good candidate for hero only, and Hired Gun is about as neutral-seeming as they come!

I think you are right that it would add interesting options to the table but as pointed out above the theme aspect is somewhat lost, I always find it a little jarring thematically to see a villain deck with Rebel War Room as the battleground, but its already out there as they say.

With faction or colour restricted battlegrounds you might end up with weird situations where an opponent really wants your battlefield because its better for them than you but they couldn’t have it as their battleground because their deck can't run it because of its play restiction.

What they could do though is have some really powerful battlegrounds that have a cost associated with claiming them, like a resource cost or that you need a ready character to claim it.

I really like the idea of needing a ready character to utilize the claim ability on a battleground.
