Victory list

I've always been a fan of the Victory and want a trip Victory List that can be deadly.
Hopefully that is deadly to my opponent and not me!?

Superior Positions

This list will bulldoze anything foolish enough to fly straight at them from the front. So you should really worry about what will happen when the enemy doesn't come straight at you from the front. If an enemy comes to nip at your flanks, maybe you can turn the corresponding side VSD into it, so you'd better deploy appropriately. If an enemy cruises past your front and kites you, you'll be in trouble because your three ships can't wheel effectively at speed 2.

Your trouble will be that, even with JJ, it's hard to keep all three of the Vics aimed at the enemy. You'll find yourself obstructing your own shots pretty often, and you'll find your fields of fire overlapping almost never. Not saying it can't work ever, but you'll live and die on how effectively you can master that difficulty, and a big part of it happens during deployment. You have to deploy right and/or your opponent has to deploy wrong.

Nost how do you recommend I deploy my fleet if I'm first player?

If you are going to run VSD's you need to plan to win off your objectives. They will almost always lose in a ship to ship fight because they don't have the bulk, guns, or maneuverability to win by themselves.

Fleet ambush is going to put an MC30 or Demolisher in your side or even rear flank first activation of the game, where it will likely destroy all three ships with impunity.

Advanced gunnery is great, except I would put mine on a flotilla and just accept the 146 free points for killing one of the VSD-1's (can't put advanced gunnery on a gunnery team ship)

Superior positions is just a terrible terrible choice for non-bomber fleets. You will cede hundreds of points in tokens if your opponent brings 134 points in squadrons. Solar Corona is the ship equivalent, but since it offers no points, it isn't going to do much for you other than let you deploy in a corner.

For VSD fleets it is essential to either use a fair amount of squadrons with lambdas to abuse token objectives, or add in an interdictor and use grav shift to pull the station and obstacle objectives around for your benefit and turtle on them to pad your points.
