Positivity Thread

By wurms, in X-Wing

All these depressing posts about being sick of the game and nerf threads and complaints. Time for some cheering up.

No long posts here. Lets do a twitter like feed. Give some positives you love about the game and cheer us all up!

I love when time is called in a game and you need 1 or 2 damage on a ship to win. You roll your three red dice and get 3 hits. Then your opponent grabs his 2 or 3 green dice and rolls...

:o

When I roll up Lt. Lorrir as a flanker and perform that bank 1 barrel roll that gives me a range 1 shot out of the victims arc and I'm millimeters from the side of his ship; and I wave....then I pull the triggers. Sweet :-)

Actually playing the game in a tournament setting is stell hella fun. Still feels like player skill vs player skill.

Using Echo and winding up in some crazy position that completely throws the other guy for a loop.

Flying 8 TIE fighters is still awesome.

When you get 2 hits and a crit on a Protectorate, and you really need that crit to be a direct damage.... and it is :D

Rolling 4 dice, getting 2 hits and 2 crits, and watching the guy flying an Interceptor roll blanks.

Firing a missile/torp salvo when you have no way to modify the dice but just want/need to get the thing out of the tubes at range and then rolling all hits anyways!

Connor Net drops on a stressed Echo, throwing that player for a loop.

No matter what...

...the Millenium Falcon never gets old :)

I will say it was very hard to keep a straight face when my opponent zoomed a mindlinked Fenn Rau into range one of Backdraft's rear arc, put 4/6 hits on him, then I turned around and got two hits with a crit through horrible defense dice, and a Major Explosion trigger for the one-shot kill.

No, no, no my friend, this is supposed to be a positive thread. This stings.

Using ion cannons to bounce my friend's Decimator into some rocks, luring him near the edge of the play area, then ionizing him off the map.

When you kill a full health Fire spray with an A-wing only ;)

Making it thru a tournament flying 2 large ships without hitting a single obstacle.

Playing 4 B-wings and watching the opponent Gawk at the number of shields... and then reaching into your pocket for loose change because you still don't have enough. -_- ^_^

Last picture should be an hourglass, as you sit there and ponder each of the dozen or so different ending spots you could achieve with Echo.

Getting virtually any ship basically glued to the Opponent's back by arc dodging. Hell, any time arc dodging works, no matter if for or against you. The dogfighting feeling is just amazing.

Playing two fluff lists against each other (Death Star Trenchers ho!). Emptying the entire bag of stress tokens on Tycho Celchu. Building a list with a TiE Advanced, a Bomber, and a punisher, just because the models stack up to form a cute imperial pyramid and making it work.

Et cetera et cetera :D

Giving my buddy grief for accidentally bumping his ship - and now I'm in firing arc, of course... ;)

Being behind in a match, and having my Lt. Colzet flip a crit that destroys or cripples an opposing ship, and swings the match in my favor.

I am in love with what the new title does to my StarVipers. I can't wait to see what the new pilots do.

Playing the game.

When your final match in a tournament comes down to an X-wing vs a TIE fighter and the winner makes the cut. It was a T-70 and SF but still thematic and every maneuver was critical. I lost but it was still probably the most fun and exciting game I have ever played.
