So, I have flown the upsilon shuttle with dormitz whisper and wampa and have played it well. It does not seem viable for champs, etc. So, trying to come up with a similar idea that allows for the shuttle to be more of a damage dealer......so here goes "shoot it down" fellas.....
Epsilon Leader
Seems fun. My problem is PS, I would consider putting advanced sensors instead of FCS on the shuttle, it bumps like a Mutherluver and keeping A target in arc (never mind the same target) is tough. Weapons guidance isn't terrible for modding dice. Stealth device seems pointless for such a low priority target (even If I love her) use the points on crew for Whisper or upgrades on Starkiller
for the 22 pts, id use either targeting sync on Epsilon to make the others hit harder when they don't have FCS working potentially hit harder or use a wired Zeta Leader and change TactJamm to APL's for the same bid.
Epsilon Leader is nice - being able to de-stress friends is a great ability for a cheap ship - but Stealth Device is questionable. As a TIE/fo, if you want it tougher your first choice is Comms Relay (because a retained evade token is amazing, essentially a regenerating shield upgrade). Targeting Syncrhoniser is a cool upgrade, but better paired with Epsilon Ace (because a shared target lock at PS12 is just mean). Epsilon Leader is also quite nice with Primed Thrusters - you can K-turn or segnor, then barrel roll to 'scootch' your stress clearing aura over a bit to include a friendly ship that's not currently in it, then clear his stress and his wingman's.
I agree with the comment about fire control system on the upsilon. Keeping the same target a few turns in a row isn't easy. Advanced sensors is nice, but you can get most of the same bonus (in terms of being able to use the red bits of your dial, although not the same immunity to collisions) with a Pattern analyser, for one point less. That's a straight swap for the fire control system, letting you do (for example) a speed 1 turn and still either focus the shuttle or co-ordinate whisper, and leaves you systems slot free for a zero-point collision detector, making you much more tolerant of rocks and (especially) debris clouds.
If you want a 'battleship shuttle', the best combination I've seen (albeit fairly costly) is Weapons Guidance, Pattern Analyser & Recon Specialist. With these, you nearly always get 2 focus tokens, which lets you change all focus results plus one blank result. The difference to Fire Control System is that you can slam that into whatever target presents itself, rather than trying to chase a fighter in your obsidian space bat.
Rebel Captive is brutal. Personally I'd put it on Whisper, though - it gives her a great defence against one of her key weaknesses; PS9+, action-dependent aces like Fenn Rau, Vader and Fel. She's your main 'threat' unit, with the Shuttle providing supporting fire and occasional co-ordinate bonus actions.
