NO BIGGS! Surprise surprise! (I never use the guy... I try not to fly ships/pilots that will draw too much ire of new people I play against) Just wanted to get some opinions on this...
Wes Janson
Vectored Thrusters, Veteran Instincts, Seismic Torpedo, R5-P9
Wedge Antilles
Vectored Thrusters, Opporunist, R2-D2
Ahsoka Tano
Captured TIE, Sabine's Masterpiece, Veteran Instincts, Rey, EMP Device
Here's the concept I have in mind for this. Wes and Wedge flying in formation. Wes strips off the focus/evade tokens from the target whether he gets all crits or blanks out. Wedge follows up with a second attack. Ahsoka hangs tight feeding an X-Wing with a free action (let's Wes use his focus to regen if need be), passing on her combat phase and staying basically cloaked from the enemy team for as long as possible... or just get into position to pop the EMP and let the X-Wings pick off the ionized ships. The seismic torps would come into play when I feel the time is right
Thoughts?
Not your typical T-65 list
I get where you're coming from here, I have two points to make:
- I'd be worried about the amount of firepower I'm bringing to the table.
- If you're using VT then you're not focusing or taking a TL, I'd be making sure I do either of those and leaving the barrel roll as Ahsoka's free action.
Maybe try BB-8 instead of R2-D2? Yes you lose the regen but you get the barrel roll without VT which gives you another couple of points to spend.
Opportunist taking advantage of Wes' ability is nice, but it makes you rather dependent on not losing Wes; he's likely to be the first target and he's not that tough. Yes, he has regen but if he gets blown away in one turn he won't get a chance to use it.
I'd concur that the total firepower may be an issue. One three dice plus one four dice attack - even if one has focus/target lock - doesn't really feel that scary.
It's worth a try but it'll take a bit of planning to get right, I fear.

Basically, this. You want to draw fire away from Wes, and I'm afraid Biggs is the best solution right now.
Also, Wedge is gonna be really movement restricted with opportunist-induced stress. Why not swap him for Keyan ?
I know you don't want to use Biggs, but this is what I got from theorycrafting some time ago about this Wes + Opportunist combo, hope it can be of use :
Alternatively, if you want a 4-point improvement in Wedge's firepower that's not dependent on Wes surviving, try Expertise. Target Lock/Focus isn't quite as much of a damage increase as Opportunist/Focus, but it's close.
More importantly, it lets Wedge barrel roll like a loon and still get dice modifiers on his attacks; having focus mods from expertise is better than an extra die, and without the self stress you can open up the X-wing's white die (there's an argument for trading R2-D2 to Wes and R5-P9 to Wedge if you do this).
